10-inch Dobsonian Reflector Telescope – Large Aperture for Crisp, Bright Images – Solid Base Construction with Handle for Easy Transport – Ideal Astronomical Telescope

DELIVERY: I read a lot of reviews with delivery issues, fortunately, I did not have any issues. The scope arrived two days early and complete. PACKAGING: The scope was well packed. Double boxed and well protected with form fitting Styrofoam inserts ASSEMBLY: Very simple. There is a video on the web that gives step by step assembly for the base and tube. I had the assembly done in about 20 minutes. OPTICS: Collimation wasn’t even close out of the box. The included laser collimator that came seems ok but the beam was a little diffused. I have a Hotech collimator and used that instead. I was able to get collimation done in short order. FIRST LIGHT: No clouds the first weekend I had the scope which unusual. The scope does not disappoint. Views were sharp. The skies were very steady so I was able to use my 3.2mm eyepiece (390x) on the moon and the views were amazing. The eyepieces that come with the scope are ok at best, the 2” 30mm is definitely the better of the two. I will be investing in some good wide field of view eyepieces to really get the most out of this scope. OTHER: The reason I got a Dob was to have something that I could take out on a moments notice and be up and observing in my yard in 10 minutes. I was debating between the 10” and 12” and am happy that I got the 10”. Its a big scope but no so big that it’s difficult to carry. I picked up two Velcro straps with handles and use them to carry the scope. Those straps are a little long but there are two areas that can be easily sewn together to shorten them to the correct length. I place one on each side of the piviots and this makes moving the scope a breeze.

The Zhumell 10" Dobsonian is one hell of a telescope. I am having hours of fun. It is easy to use, and comes with everything you need to have some excellent nights of astro viewing. The focuser is a dual-speed Crayford, and is first rate. the finder scope works great for me. I can easily find objects and line them up in the visual crosshairs and then see what if found through the eyepieces. The eyepieces are also very good, especially the 30mm wide field, which really enjoy for deep space objects. I also purchased a Televue 13mm Nagler type5 and Explore Scientific 6.7mm eyepieces. Both give outstanding wide field views as well at higher powers, specially the 13mm, seriously superb visions of the cosmos, galaxies, star clusters and nebulas. This scope was a step up for me from a 4" Astroscan that I had for years and loved. But this piece of equipment is on a whole new level for me. You should buy it. One problem I experienced was with the handle for the base. It isn't one. As soon as i tried to pick it up the base, the handle tore the particle board and came off This is a design flaw. The base works great, smooth Dobsonian movement, just don't try to lift this heavy object with the handle, not feasible!

I thought sinking this much money into a telescope I wouldn't have major issues right out of the box. The finder scope doesn't even connect together securely, the threads are loose and it just falls off. The Collimater (spelling, sorry) inside was a joke, the spring or whatever was all falling out and the batteries were corroded that were supplied. After assembling the entire thing, I get to figure out how to get it back apart and into two boxes and try and get it shipped back. Absolute joke and so was customer service.

This is my first real telescope and it has been a blast to learn! I researched and struggled for a long time on whether to get the 8" or 10". The 8" one in my budget but I knew I would regret it if I didn't get the bigger one. The 12" I knew would be too large for me to easily haul around. I thoroughly prepared myself before hand trying to learn the best practices before even ordering the telescope and I would recommend anyone interested in starting this hobby to do the same. Do you research and learn how to use the instrument properly to make it the most fun. I bought this telescope because I wanted to look at planets and maybe some deep sky objects later on. I am totally content with just looking at them through the scope without taking beautiful pictures. I know some people want to get into astro photography and I knew getting a Dobsonian meant that stunning photography was not something it was fully capable of. Seeing the rings of Saturn for the first time with your own eyes is absolutely breathtaking and mind-boggling. It might have been worth the telescope price just for that moment. Onto the weight of this telescope. Mine is the 10", I cannot comment on the other two. I've ready that the 8" Dobsonian is much easier to move around and carry but I figured I could handle the 10". And I can but boy is it a workout. It is huge. heavy, and awkward to carry as one piece. It's a bit easier carrying it in two pieces. I've since modded it a bit by adding carrying handles on both sides and wheels under the base. While it is still massive and heavy, having handles to grab onto made it infinitely easier to carry. Overall it is a great telescope and I can only imagine the other sizes being just as well made. Again, I would stress do your research on how to use the Dobsonian telescope first so you know what to expect. I was up and running on my first night because of the research I put into it. P.S. I've also had an unusual experience with the delivery of the telescope from Amazon. However, instead of two tubes or two bases they accidentally sent me two full telescopes. While it was tempting to set them both up and have stereo vision stargazing (kidding) I contacted Amazon and they promptly sent the delivery truck back to pick up the second one.

Has bearings in the AZ base. 4. Includes micro focus adjustment. 5. Hefty steel alt. clutch to control resistance. 6. Adjustable steel weight control for large eyepieces. 7. Included right angle finder scope. 8. great customer service provided by celestron 8. Fit and finish. 9. Only 8 days from first order to delivery. 10. Mirror cooling fan included. Scope arrived nearly perfectly collimated. If I have to name one area for improvement it would be that there were no instructions included. This is where the YouTube Videos come in handy. I did not need printed instructions but some might find them helpful. I had a 10" Orion dob about twenty years ago. The problems I had with it were jerky movement, the straight through finders scope (I had to buy RACI separately) cheap eye cap collimator and none of the great accessories included with this telescope. Zhumell seems to have corrected all of the Orion shortcomings without increasing the price to any great extent. I would definitely buy it again. Whether the Zhumell, or any of the other various badges this scope is presented by, it is a great product. The Orion I bought about 20 years ago was priced about the same as this far superior product.

I was a little leery ordering this scope, because some of the reviews about not getting all the boxes, but since most of the other online telescope stores are out of stock due to pandemic supply and demand, I figured I'd roll the dice and try anyway. I am happy to say I received both the OTA box and Base box at the same time. The OTA box had a couple dings on it and two of the inside support Styrofoam inserts were cracked, but there was no damage to the telescope at all. All accessories that were suppose to come with the scope were also included. After assembling the base, installing OTA holders, spotting scope, and a much needed mirror collimation, I was able to take it outback for some views. Wasn't the best night, had some haze in the air, but everything (moon and Planets) looked bright and sharp. Been cloudy every since. LOL!

First off, this is a great scope for the price. Only reason I didn’t give 5 stars are related to shipping. The base arrived 3 days before the actual scope. Even worse, when the scope arrived, the box looked as if it had fallen off the truck on the interstate. It was double boxed and supported by tons of styrofoam but still managed to get dented and scratched. There’s even a crack in the ring around the base where the primary mirror is housed. Miraculously the mirror was not damaged, although collimation took quite some time. It was knocked WAY out of whack. The styrofoam inside the box supporting the scope was smashed to pieces. Only reason I’m not returning this thing for one that’s in better condition is because it’s a Christmas gift from my wife, it’s close to Christmas, and they are now on back-order. Again, not taking anything away from the quality of this telescope. If anything it speaks to the durability of it. It took some serious abuse in shipping and still functions perfectly after some extensive readjustment. I’ll just have to live with a few dents and scratches on my brand new telescope.

I purchased this after a couple months of research into different dobsonian telescopes and ultimately decided on the Zhumell Z10 because of the right angle finder scope, and the laser collimater (which aren't included in most telescope packages) which I read were important and after some nights out I couldn't imagine not having them. I had no trouble with the shipment and both packages (1of2base, 2of2telescope) came on the same day within the same hour. (Big package so be ready for that). Assembly was so easy. I keep it on a push cart and roll it out of the garage when ready to observe. I've seen the moon as if i were flying right next to her, saturn and her moons, and looked at all different kinds of stars! I can't wait to see DSO's. The telescope isn't impossible to move around but it isn't necessarily the easiest thing either so that's something to keep in mind! I'm beyond happy with my purchase and the future happiness this hobby will bring!
