Sonoran Spice Habanero Flakes 8 oz

I bought both the Ghost Peeper flakes and the Habanero flakes to season, well, everything I eat. The benefit of these spices is they can add a lot of heat without altering the flavor too much like adding pickled jalapeños does. The ghost peppers are good but can be easily over done. With the Habanero flakes you don't have as high a chance of getting 'hot spots', places that get a few flakes where other bites had no flakes. That happens with the Ghost Peppers. But with the Ghost Peppers a little bit goes a long way, so the whole container will last a long time. At this rate between the two containers, eating them almost every day I can expect them to last maybe a couple years. It's a great value. Sonoran Spice Ghost Pepper Flakes, 8 Ounce

I put it into a smaller spice container that was empty as the large container was a bit much for use. Just one or two shakes is good enough for my spice level. It doesn't alter the flavor of food as much as hot sauce so that's a plus for certain dishes. It was more powdery than I expected, just don't breathe in when shaking it out or you'll have some spicy sneezes! It has lasted a long time and is great for backpacking as it's lightweight and packs a punch for it's size.

If you like it hot, you will love these dried habanero flakes. Just a smidge is all you need for they are quite hot enough with just a little. Do not make the same mistake I made and put some on your finger and test them. Your tongue will swell, your lips will swell, and you may get nauseous. Phew, they really do the job! If you are like me and enjoy some heat to spice up your dishes. Enjoy! But be careful.

Seems a bit expensive compared to generic Hot Pepper Flakes as found in most supermarkets but I do use less due to added heat level and they do spice things up very well. This is my second buy of this 8 ounce quantity. As a bachelor they do last quite a while. Took about a week to arrive via USPS.

It's hard to find real habenero flakes. Most only have a touch of real ones mixed with other spicy flavors. These are real and they are hot hot hot!!! Be careful with them.
