Govee RGBIC TV backlight for 70-80 inch TVs

I love these lights. The colors are super vibrant, the app is easy to use, and they instantly upgrade the whole vibe of the room. Setup was pretty straightforward and they stick well without peeling off. I liked them so much I ended up buying multiple sets they just make everything feel more fun—movie nights, relaxing, even just having the TV on hits different now. If you’re thinking about it… just do it. Your living room will thank you

Excellent Govee product - love the back-lighting on all our TVs. I've gotten others to do theirs, too. My nice wasn't sure why she needed it until I installed it on her TV and she realized how cool it was to have at night. The colors are amazing. The flexibility of color schemes is really awesome and it really helps with eye strain in a dark room while watching anything with big contrast between darks and lights. You don't realize how much eye strain is involved with watching TV in a dark room until you have the back-lighting turned ON. The eye relief is amazing. Some might notice more than others, but for the two of us in our house, we absolutely notice when the back-lighting is off. The Govee app has amazing controls, too. You can connect with both Bluetooth and Wi-fi on Govee products which has been great. I can be anywhere in the house and be able to control any of the Govee units. Plus, there's a timer setting so you can set lights to turn on or off at a specific time of day (or multiple times a day depending on the application). I can't say enough good about Govee produccts. Quality is amazing.

This is my 2nd set. I have one on a 98in and an 86in. The video shown here is on an 86in in our bedroom. It not only transforms your tv watching experience but can be a great night light or mood light when you're not watching TV. I like the blacked out look of the light when they're off because if you use regular led lights theyre usually white in color which is fine if you cannot see the back of the tv...but if you have the tv placed somewhere where you can see the back of it, its a much nicer and cleaner look with these Govee lights as they're black. They just look nicer. I spent all this money on a nice tv, I'm not going to go el cheapo on some LED lights. These lights are very high quality. Just get them.

I like it - the LEDs are bright and the controls are versatile and individual segments can be controlled. The quality of the LED strings appears much higher than a much cheaper USB powered backlight that I ended up breaking. The identical replacement to that seemed to have an internal short that meant it tried to draw more than the 1 amp that the TV's USB port could deliver so it got sent back and replaced with this. What I don't like is that you have to have a Govee account to set it up - a cloud account should be optional. However, what I do like is that there is a local API and Home Assistant can turn it on and off using that API, so that you can tie it to an automation such that it turns on and off automatically with your TV. In my case I still use Harmony Hubs and the Home Assistant Harmony integration, so it is all auto-magic - it turns on just when the TV is on, and when the Harmony changes activity to music only, it turns off. It does appear it can be controlled by Bluetooth, but I didn't try that and am using Wi-Fi only. Note that currently the integration can *only* turn it on and off, but cannot control any of the lighting effects, which is too bad, as the API does support controlling color and brightness.
