GIVI DLM30B 30 Liter Dolomiti Monokey Aluminum Case - Black…

As a daily commuter - the kind that commutes in snow and ice - this is the best top case I've ever used. The smooth rectangle profile with no odd angles absolutely changes the game for what can fit in this (as opposed to say the Givi cases where the handle cuts in to the case area). I have on multiple occasions fit things I legitimately did not know would fit. As with all Givi products, the locking and ability to easily move between multiple motorcycles with the monolock racks is absolute top tier and makes me a fan for life. Although not this one, I have watched a person look at my top and side cases trying to find a way to get in/tear them off (hilariously they were empty) and they held on with no damage until I was able to reach the bike. Now, had they stayed there long enough, I think he may have found a way, but that's true no matter if a bike or car etc. truth be told, since he had no tools I think he may have encountered other bikes with non-blocking panniers before and expected to simply be able to open them and easily walk off with what's inside. I say this because most panniers aren't locking. This top case has of course have never had a problem with water intrusion and its not for lack of trying. I have ridden in countless downpours and never so much as a drop of water has gotten inside. The black powder coat is top notch. It is not easy to scratch and looks amazing. I actually accidentally ordered the black instead of raw aluminum and my wife convinced me to keep it. I agree with her, the looks of the black are much sharper than the aluminum. I carry an LTT backpack which is quite generously sized and even with it absolutely stuffed with as much as it will fit, it fits nicely in this top case. For perspective, this is the maximum size that can be used as a personal item on an airplane - and some airlines might be a bit larger than that. As always you get what you pay for. Givi and cheap can't be said in the same sentence, but the old addage completely applies here - buy once, cry once. For what you're getting, and knowing that it can be used on all of your bikes going forward, it's a fantastic investment that I would strongly encourage any rider to get.

First, I want to point out that the one and only picture for this product is the older OBK42, not the OBKN42. I'm going to guess that the 'N' stands for "new" (or whatever the word for new is in Italian), and the new version has redesigned tie-downs. You might think this is a petty distinction to make, but some accessories -- including the backrest pads -- are molded differently to accommodate the different tie-down versions, and will only fit the version for which they are designed. If you happen to want to order the luggage and pad at the same time, you could be in for a costly surprise! The luggage itself is great. The fit and finish is top notch. I love the fact that it matches the look of the BMW R1200GS Adventure side cases nearly identically... with the exception that the tie-downs on the older OBK42 (which I thought I ordered based on the one picture available) were much closer to BMW stock than those on the OBKN42 (which I received). The interior capacity is great for one 2xl-sized full-face helmet, and a few other random items. I mounted my case to an AltRider cargo plate with the AltRider Monokey kit installed. With the rubber bumpers properly placed, the case fits snuggly, with no slack that might otherwise allow for vibration or rattling. Just in case you're wondering what adapter you will need to fit this case, the answer is: there isn't just one. Givi makes a number of bike-specific mounting plates for Monokey, she they also make universal plates that may require a bit of fabrication and creativity to mount on any given bike. AltRider, and possibly a few other 3rd party manufacturers, also make Monokey adapters. Based on my experience with AltRider, I can definitely give them my stamp of approval for the Monokey kit. As I put this case through it's paces, I may come back and update the review. I have read plenty of reviews for Givi tank bags that point at systemic problems with zippers, but since this case has no zippers, I don't see that as a problem!

PROS: 1. This is a great top case. So much room and super sturdy construction. Snaps on/off quickly. This is likely some of the best quality you can get on the market. Definitely a great case and durable for sure. 2. This Amazon price is likely the best you'll find on this top case anywhere after accounting for shipping - though it's still way too expensive (see #2 below). CONS: Only two real complaints... 1. The key cannot be removed when unlocked. Of course you want to ensure the case is locked on the bike before you take off riding, but the lock cylinder could easily have more than two positions (or trust the rider?). It's stupid to not be able to remove the key while it's unlocked, as I find myself needing to do that nearly every time I use the box. 2. The price! I know that most quality cases for this type of bike are pretty expensive, but the Givi Outback cases are beyond pricey. If money is not an issue, then these are likely some of the better/best cases you can get. However, they definitely have an inflated price tag. Going with a different brand for the full set of side/top cases + mounting gear, you can save $500-600 USD, though you may not get the same capacity or durability.

Box is exceptionally sturdy and has a quality rubber seal on the lid. A 250lb+ force on the lid barely deflects the lid panel. You could probably haul a 50 lb sack on the lid and it will never cause an issue. The most important test for me was does it fit my helmet a visor? Yes, it does with the visor on, snug but no contact with the lid. Without the visor, the helmet will fit sideways and that may leave room to use the lid net to hold something like a small first aid bag or tire repair kit. Spendy, but definitely recommend for quality and to fit a single helmet, even with a visor.

Love the size of these 37 liter boxes. I ordered the set and it included a third key and lock just as some others have said. The 3rd extra key and lock were inside one of the boxes and I can install that on a top box at a later time if I choose to do that someday. Everything from givi really has a high quality packaging and look to it. Love these 37L box sizes on my vstrom 650. I feel like anything bigger would really look bad and mess with the balance and aerodynamics of the bike so I stayed with these smaller bags. I mounted mine with the locks facing back because that way the lids will stay open better when loading them. It does take some getting used to when mounting the bike. I now have to stand on the peg before I toss my leg over the saddle or else I will kick the left givi box with my right foot as I'm swinging it over the saddle. Great job Givi on some amazing luggage pieces for my bike. I just wish they had a US distributor for all of their products but I must say this set shipped really fast to me for these boxes. Thanks Amazon 1year UPDATE : One of the rivets fell out. It was near impossible to get a hold of givi, and their response was basically to call the dealer (i guess my amazon seller?). I called a friend with a rivet gun, I believe we used a 3/8 inch or 1/4 inch rivet, but was able to replace the failed rivet (one that held the lid hinge on my right box). Other than givi being pretty useless in support (if they could have just said please use a 1/4" rivet and sent me some givi stickers, that would have been better than nothing!)

This pair of GIVI Dolomiti side cases are a perfect fit for my 2024 Honda NC750x. In my opinion, these side cases are much more substantial than many others we have seen. The fit and finish of the these side cases far surpasses any we have purchased before for the two Suzuki DL650s and two KLRs we outfitted in the past.

I would like to be able to remove the key without having it locked

I received my Givi Outback Trekker 37L cases about 2 months ago. They are very sturdy, and look great on my adventure bike. The finish is a matte black and appears very durable. I had read reviews about water resistance vs water proofing. I have paperwork in one of my cases, and my bike stays outside all the time. The cases have never had a drop of water get into them. The brackets on the top are very sturdy, and if needed, you could strap bags down onto them also. They cases are 37L each, and have enough room for me to carry a tool bag, compressor and tire plug kit, laptop computer case, and much more. Unless I was going to be doing a very long tour, I could not imagine needing more room that this. Givi did a great job with these cases, and I would highly recommend them to anyone needing a good looking, high quality case.

Questo bauletto per la moto è davvero grande con una capacità di 58 lt. Ci posso mettere due caschi integrali e comunque posso metterci molte cose per viaggiare o anche solo per fare la spesa. Prodotto GIVI di qualità e robusto ed è abbastanza leggero. Della stessa serie avevo già le borse laterali. Unica pecca e che la base di aggancio non è compresa quindi, come nel mio caso, se è il primo bauletto e non hai la base bisogna comprarla separatamente. Altro dettaglio e che GIVI ha una serie di accessori per questo bauletto.

Le seul avantage de givi c'est que tu peux changer les serrure pour avoir une seule clé pour tous les Coffre en option $$$ bien sûr .
