Lactobacillus is one of the species of microorganisms used to produce fermented products, such as kimchi and sauerkraut, a Korean dietary staple, from cabbage. Like many members of the lactic acid bacteria family, Lactobacillus is capable of restricting the growth of other microorganisms by acidifying its environment. Lactobacillus also produces novel antimicrobial peptides, known as bacteriocins, that are capable of providing broad spectrum antimicrobial protection. During the manufacturing process, lysozyme is added to the ferment filtrate to facilitate a controlled cell lysis to ensure the release of the antimicrobial peptides for maximized activity. Leucidal Liquid SF can be used in a wide range of cosmetic products, however, to ensure optimum results, it is recommend using the following guidelines: Incorporate the product into formulations at a pH between 3 and 7, during the cooling phase of the process at temperatures lower than 80°F. I bought this because I love fermenting my own veggies
I bought this because I love fermenting my own veggies. This was the first time I purchased a preservative. I previously made a green tea toner without a preservative, which after a week and a half the liquid became cloudy with bacteria. I used this in a chamomile toner I made and guess what? A week and a half later there was a cloudy bacteria floating around in my toner. Also, I noticed a burning sensation on my skin after applying the toner which hadn't been there in the previous week. Sadly, this product did not work. I will be returning it.

Fast Shipping
Got it a week early! Great fast shipping, based on research it looks like leucidal is a really good preservative but I'm not sure how good this one is. Only time (about a year) will tell. It does go by quickly. You have to use about a tsp (1 gram) for every 4.5 cups (36oz) of product

Good So Far, Will Update
I bought this to use on my home made DIY hair pomade (product w/ water, oils, & wax); works like a charm. I've only had 1 weeks' use of it but no moldy growth so far, which has been a consistent problem.I'm keeping samples of each batch, so I'll update after a few more weeks to get a better measure.

I'm trying this out on some DIY products, and it seems ok. I'll see how it works out, over the long term, as a preservative. So far, it's too soon to tell. It has a nice texture, and mixed with the other ingredients without any issues. The smell is completely neutral.
