GI Joe: The Story Behind the Legend [An Illustrated History of America's Greatest Fighting Man] by Don Levine (1999) Hardcover

I enjoyed reading this little book very much. Interesting to see the evolution from idea to full-blown product line.

This is a nice and interesting book about the history of GI Joe, though there isn't much to it. If you can get it at a low price, as I did, a collector might want to add it to his collection, as I did. It just touches the history and background. For a more in-depth background and for the die-hard GI Joe fan that is interested in the full history and background, may I recommend another book also offered by Amazon: GI Joe: The Complete Story of America's Favorite Man of Action by Michlig, John. This is a great book. (See separate review.)Overall, not a bad purchase, as long as you realize it comprises of only 96 pages. A serious collector will find use for this, but there isn't much for anyone else.

Good book if your looking to know more about the origins of g I joe. No help if your looking for a price guide. We'll set up. Worth reading if your a joe nut.

Great book on history of GI Joe. It has beautiful color illustrations of the figures and great information of the product.

Our son already had a couple books on the GI JOE 12" collectible dolls, but this one is the best.
