Good classic lava lamp.
When I was a kid (the 80's) my mother and grandmother would spend the day go to different yard sales on Saturday afternoon. Being a record and comic book collector I would tag along. I found an original lava lamp from the 60's and it was awesome. The original yellow liquid and red lava. I had that thing up until a friend of my knocked it off the table and broke the tank. I was heart broken. I've had at least three other lava lamps since then that never quite matched the quality. After a long period of use the lave will break down and stop working right. It would float to the top and stay there. You should never leave the lamp on for more that 10 hours and I always stuck to that. So I found this orignal lamp and it works just like the one that I found at the yard sale as a kid. Very happy with this purchase.

Not suitable for the UK
This should not be sold in the UK - it is for the wrong voltage and has an American plug on it. Very annoying - I nwe have to go through all the palava of returning it.

mesmerizing and fun
Foggy but lovely. Someone else had posted a review with their lamp and they mentioned the foggy appearance of the liquid that the wax floats in. Mine is the same, you cant see through to the other side, however I still really enjoy the lamp. The colour is gorgeous and I find such a difference between this one and a cheaper no name version I had. My lamp arrived in perfect condition and has been having daily use and very happy.

Total Disaster - Arrived Broken and Dangerous!
I was so excited to add this lava lamp to my room, but opening the package was a nightmare. The box arrived completely crushed, and I could immediately hear the sound of glass rattling around inside. When I opened it up, the base and light bulb were fine, but the actual glass globe was shattered into a million pieces. The entire inside of the box was a soaking wet mess of liquid, shards, and wax. To make matters worse, as I was trying to pull the components out, I got a severe cut on my hand from a shard of glass that was stuck to the inner cardboard. This isn't just a broken product; it's a safety hazard. Zero stars if I could.

Awesome colour and flow. It looks cool when it is first heating up as you can see in the photo and then once it gets going the wax moves around a lot and very freely. No issues.
