Great dark roast
If you like your coffee strong, this bean is for you. My favorite up until now has been Sumatra. I've ordered it from several different roasters, both in decaf and regular. This surpasses all of them. I look forward to my morning cup more than usual, and I can't wait to tour there roasting facilities the next time I'm in Chicago. Intelligentsia El Diablo is a little more expensive than some of the other dark roasts, but I've found I can use a little less per cup, so maybe it's equaling out by the end of the bag. Mild coffee lovers beware. If you enjoy coffee at most restaurants and fast food establishments, don't purchase El Diablo.

Dark roast (not dark?)
As an amateur, this doesn’t look like a dark roast. There are many reviews that say they think the product was incorrectly packaged. Since most feedback is that ‘this dark roast is light’, I’m assuming the color is the manufacturer’s intent. Coloring aside, I find the flavor to be really good and I’m in the Camp of being a a dark roast drinker. Since you don’t drink color, if you like dark roast coffee flavor, I’d say you’re getting what you paid for. A bit expensive, but worth buying again. Enjoy

Tastes like stale restaurant coffee.
Bought this based on a recommendation in Consumer Reports. Unfortunately, it wasn’t very good. The beans were very hard and seemed to be old, and the coffee itself was stale. I couldn’t even finish a whole cup. I won’t be buying it again. However, it did arrive quickly.
