Excellent saw, just one issue . . .
I have three Silky folding saws, and all are of the highest Japanese quality. These are not comparable to other, slightly cheaper pruning saws manufactured in China. They're incredibly sharp, precisely manufactured, and fit and finish are outstanding in every manner. I spray my blades with Bostick tool cutting spray so resin doesn't collect in the tight places at the bottom of the teeth, and along the sides of the blade. This is the "large" tooth model; my others are "medium" tooth models. In general, I think an average user would want the medium teeth, not the large teeth, especially if you're pruning smaller branches in wood that is essentially "dry." The large tooth model is intended for green, wet wood applications. I don't think there could be higher manufacturing quality than is evident on Silky saws. For the small difference in price, these go beyond utility and are a pleasure to possess and hold in your hand, like a jewel. One issue with this particular seller is that the product ships directly from Osaka, Japan, and it takes a couple weeks to arrive, even with Prime. If you choose to return it for any reason, you'll have to return it to Japan at your own expense. So be sure you want a large tooth model before you order one because returning it (if the teeth are too large for your purpose) might not be worth the expense. Otherwise, look at the medium tooth model, which seem to ship from the U.S. The medium tooth model is a few bucks cheaper because it ships from the U.S. The 130 size is nice for clearing backcountry campsites, but if weight isn't particularly an issue for you, the 170 size (I have one) might be more efficient, especially on larger diameter branches. My 170 size shippeddirectly from Japan. The photo below illustrates the difference in size between the 130 and 170, and the size difference between medium and large teeth. Even if you need to have the saw ship directly from Japan though, it's worth the wait.

Silky Folding Landscaping Hand Saw POCKETBOY - Recommended
Silky Professional Series PocketBoy Folding Saw 130mm Large TeethExcellent, recommended. Feels sharper and cuts faster, with less effort, compared to anything else I've used. Pocket size is handy.Note: Cut on pull stroke only! Saws like this can snap if you bear down hard on the push stroke. I broke a nice Sandvik that way, replaced it with this Silky.---------Update: I wrote the above when I bought the saw in May 2016. Now its May 2022, six years use, and it still feels as sharp as new. I was using it this week and decided to update this review.I have an orchard and carry this whenever I'm out in the orchard, to catch what the farm laborers missed. Typical 20 limbs cut, each time I wander in the orchard. So its not 8 hours a day use like an arborist but it is considerable use over the years.I think it's Silky's proprietary induction hardening that makes the teeth into tool steel, like steel for cutting metal on a lathe, that explains why this doesn't dull with use. (And why specialists say its impossible to sharpen, that would cut through the tempered surface.) Just don't run it into the dirt, that can dull anything.I often cut limbs up to beer-can diameter, sometimes larger. It goes through green wood fast with little effort. Dead, dry, hard wood doesn't make as large sawdust, a little slower progress, but for either its simpler to use this than go back to the tractor for the chainsaw. I don't see a reason to buy the larger 170mm version, this 130mm Pocketboy does what I need and its trivial to carry in a pocket.Repeating what I said 6 years ago, Recommended! This tool is notably, substantially, better than anything else on the market.

Good back country saw.
It’s on edge of too heavy for backpacking but if you need a saw on the trail you need a saw that works well. This one does.

For Survival there is ONLY ONE Folding Saw - Silky!!!
As the Founder and chief bottle washer of Ultimate Survival Tips (look us up on Google)... I test a TON of gear. Plus when it comes to folding saws... I have my degree in Landscape Architecture and many moons ago started and ran a few marginally successful landscape design and maintenance companies... so I KNEW that most if not all folding saws were terrible. But recently I went to a 40 day survival training in Arkansas. We were supposed to bring a folding saw, so I totally avoided the whole folding landscape saw genre and bought a Bob Dustrude's quick buck saw instead. Now old Bob's saw kicked butt, however it was a bit big and didn't fit inside my small scout pack and certainly could not fit in my pocket or on my belt.So after about 2 weeks of analyzing what my survival comrades were using for folding saws and trying them all out... I became obvious that Silky folding saws were the best of the best.We all saw (get it) that they simply cut faster with less effort than Bahco, Corona and others. I first purchased the Super Silky BIGBOY with extra large teeth and found that it cut through large logs nearly as fast as my Bob Dustrude's saw AND it DID fit in my scout pack. But I wanted a small pocketable saw too... so I picked up this Sliky PocketBoy. And man am I happy. This little guy eats wood for breakfast, lunch and dinner and I hardly break a sweat cutting with it, even on hot days. It's perfect for survival and bushcraft and handles all but the largest taskes... And did I say it fits in my pocket or bag and is hardly noticeable?I honestly am not sure how Silky (a Japanese company) does it. Is it some mystical steel or a unique cutting blade pattern... But honestly I don't really care. All I know is that Silky folding saws are the best I've used in 25 years - period. They make cutting as easy as it can get be from a human powered folding saw... and have proved to be a valuable and stout tools for bushcraft and survival.I now have a silky saw in every bug out bag I own.

Great little saw
Used a few pocket boys, lost my medium tooth and decided on this. Cuts better than the medium teeth imo. Great tool
