After MREs get cycled out of govt stock, they're put up for sale in PXs and surplus channels. Some private citizen has paid the govt for these and is reselling them.

Shame they quit making and using C-Rations, they were the best and lasted very long times in the cans.Showing age but they were awsome in the field?

There are some companies still making them. They just got to be costly and hard to carry compared to newer MREs.
