Replacing with same model Arrived used missing parts Update
First I want to thank Amazon for taking care of this quickly. Obviously someone stole a new unit.... I am guessing when it arrived that asked for a refund and said it was damaged... what they did was send their defective unit back and kept the new one! The return was not inspected and went out to me as a new unit... I got a new replacement quickly and it was an unopened new unit. I have installed and so far working perfectly. Thanks Amazon for making it right! Update: Unit arrived but obviously used, scratches, missing control panel, manual, and installation hardware. Amazon sending replacement. Should have never been send out! Lost time hope replacement is new and complete. Installed an 1800 xm pro in 2007 on my boat which is in water year round. Replacing with new unit 13 years later. Transfer switch was touchy on old unit and sometimes would not transfer to inverter. Problem got worse each year until his year it finally gave up transfer and constant E05 error. 13 years I consider good life span hope the replacement does as well.

Quite a good modified sine wave inverter!
Hooked it up to my small battery bank of 2s2p golf cart batteries (12v), and it ran my full sized fridge/freezer overnight with no problems. My fridge/freezer unit has about a 2400W surge for the first fraction of a second. Once the compressor is running it typically only draws 200W or so when running. It powered most of my power tools just fine (angle grider, jigsaw, air compressor) but not my large 15A chopsaw. I suspect the surge current on that chop saw might be above 3000W thought (but I've not measured it). I really like the LCD screen which tells you the battery voltage. I have a volt meter on my batteries so I can see if the voltage is lower on the inverter, this tells me there is a larger load and the voltage drop is coming from the cables. Overall this inverter works well for most applications, but don't expect it to run some 15A power tools with high surge current. You might need a 2000W-2500W inverter for that. Also the low voltage warning kicks in on my unit at 11.1v, and it shuts off due to low voltage at 10.6v. Make sure you have thick cables if you want to run heavy loads. I'd recommend 2/0. Also, the voltage output is quite good, even underload it was outputting 121v to my fridge through a 50ft extension cord!

THIS IS AWESOME!!!
We love it so much that we ended up buying another one for our NEW trailer. It works wonderful with our Solar Panels and keeps everything working the right way. Definitely recommend this product. And the price is very reasonable too!

Xantrex - Buyer beware!
I installed the Xantrex XM1800 inverter in my motorhome approx 6 years ago. Since then I’ve had to replace each unit approximately every two years. The first had the pass thru transfer switch go bad. The second quit working and the one I have installed now just burned up. It was super hot and smoking like crazy. Just glad I was at the motorhome when it happened so I could disconnect it before it started a fire. In both prior failures I contacted the manufacturer and was told it is out of warranty, sorry. I’ve lost all faith in Xantrex and would never recommend their products. Buyer Beware!!!

Runs entire RV
I installed this on my 30 foot fifth whelk. It’s large enough to feed all the 120 V outlets on two 15 A circuits. I routinely use it to run an electric coffeemaker. I tested it on a 1700 W heater for ~20 minutes, and it worked fine (although I wouldn’t use it for heating). Runs TV and stereo just fine. It has many features that prevent accidental damage to the inverter from overload, overheating, and out-of-range voltage.

Good product, reliable vendor
It arrived on time, perhaps even earlier. It's not purring like a kitten. No problems thus far, had it for over a month now.

Easy install in Duffy boat.
Unit replaced an Xantrex that went bad after 10 years. This was a larger unit to handle additional load.
