There and loved it
Good to have a record of this wonderful show from the mid 90's. Still very much hit makers then and banging out the pop tunes, including more obscure album tracks for an enthusiastic crowd at the Savoy theatre, London. The theatre, from Very a particular favourite.

THEATRICAL PET SHOP
When the PSB's announced they were putting on a concert in a West End theatre, it raised a few eye-brows!However, the boys delivered a show packed with hits, proved that they could do intimate venues as well as big arenas and everyone had a great time. The DVD is nothing spectacular, but a record of a great night out and includes a mildy interesting documentary. However, the highlight is the divine version of 'It's a Sin'.Maybe when the boys do the next DVD they'll exploit the possibilties of DVD - after all they've pushed the limits with everything else they've done, so maybe its time to turn their attention to this format.

Brilliant concert and the quality is OK
I loved this concert, which I saw 'in the flesh'. It's an excellent collection of some of the best PSB songs, even though it's not a 'greatest hits' collection (which is fine as many of their best songs have not been singles). I found the staging and performance beautiful.I'm mainly posting a comment here because I had read (here and elsewhere) that the sound quality was not perfect. Well, it may not be the best sound mix ever, but I'd like to assure people that mine sounds fine. When I bought it I was worried that the music might sound like it had been transferred from a VHS tape (!), but it doesn't. It's perfectly good. The drums/beats might sound slightly muffled or dull, but I don't think most people, even well-attuned pop fans, would notice. So you can buy this lovely DVD with a happy heart.

Unfortunate first DVD release for PSB
It's a shame really - the PSB's have always embraced new technology, and DVD should be no exception which is why I'm surprised this is their first DVD release. I went to one of the concerts at the Savoy and it was amazing, but because the venue is so small, you can't expect the audio and the video to be particularly good to start with. The documentary is nice, but there are zero options comparitively to the VHS release except for being able to pick out your favourite tunes. I'd much rather see their promotional videos on DVD with some background info on the songs/videos to set it apart from VHS. Also It Couldn't Happen Here should be released as a limited DVD, although I'm biased as I am probably one of the few who actually likes the film! Anyway, I don't think there's much point in quibbling about the sound and video aspects of this DVD. It would have been better to release an older live concert on DVD which was filmed at a larger venue. As it stands I think it's fine but just not overly special.

Awful audio dont buy !
Audio is awful. I feel cheating by buying it. I can barely hear Chris' vocals!
