Pleasantly pleased with the taste, gives you a caffeine lift without the jitters. I think our founding fathers were onto something here.

Smoky Flavor
They weren't kidding when they named it "Fire Roasted". My husband said it tastes like smoke. LOL. I don't know what I was expecting, as "Fire Roasted" does imply it will have a smoky flavor. Overall, it made a decent cup of tea and the price was reasonable. We will try a different flavor next time.

Yuck
The smell of this tea was terrible, taste bad too. Smelled to me like a old burnt leather shoe, my son said it smelled and tasted like ash from a firepit. Won't buy again

Robust alternative to coffee
Ordered this because in the past, I have made my own Yaupon tea. This product has a robust flavor, not quite like espresso coffee. It may take a bit of adjustment to get accustomed to the flavor, but in the end is a reasonable alternative to coffee. For the record, my preferred coffee is the Bustelo brand.. - a strong espresso coffee. Yaupon tea may be more robust than the coffee you are used to.

Really mild roasted tea
The flavor of this tea is mildly roasty, and reminds me of a very mild oolong tea or hojicha or genmaicha. The caffeine from this hits me pretty fast, and the buzz wears off quickly. This was my first yaupon, and it was good. I’d like to try the unroasted as well.

Please read before Buying!
I want to start this review by saying what I did like about the tea. I would say the hype is real when it comes to the caffeinating, and the feel of alertness and calmness one gets with this tea. It was quite good and I could see it being a decent substitute to coffee. The one thing people should be aware of. is the flavor and aroma. If someone enjoys smoky flavors of Mezcal or a smoked cocktail, then they might enjoy this tea. Since it is very smoky in aroma and flavor. I for one do not and should have read more reviews about it before buying.

Yaupon tea is nice and smokey.
Very smokey flavor, but that's what I like about the Fire-roasted Yaupon Tea. It's also good mixed with other teas, such as English Breakfast tea, or Yerba Mate.
