Nice Addition

Used this product for the first time (in Nasi Gorung) and found it to be exactly as advertised. Nice taste and texture; little odor - certainly not unpleasant. A bit pricey but also a hard-to-find item. Encountered none of the problems reported by some reviewers.

Was Like Eating Shoe Leather with Taste of Cod

I bought these to make a shrimp and grits recipe for backpacking, instead of buying factory-made meals. I bought on price, but I should've looked at reviews. I made some ahead of my trip. They took a very long time to reconstitute. They were tough and chewy, and tasted like cod. Nothing about them except the vague visual resemblance was like shrimp. I trashed the entire remainder and bought a can of shrimp instead (which I haven't tried yet, but anything would be better than these).
