Wi-Fi 9dBi Booster Long Range Omni Directional 2.4Ghz 802.11n/b/g Antenna with RP-SMA Male Connector on Magnetic Base (10ft/ 3m RG174 Coaxial Cable)

The magnet is way to weak hold the antenna on any vertical surface even a fixed one so don't even consider it for something like a door that is going to be opened and closed.I bought this for two possible uses and it failed for one.The first use was a modded Roku box I set up for my grandmother across the street. The mod was adding an antenna connector from an old router so I could put an antenna outside. I have been using an old name brand 5dBi antenna with a 4ft cord and this 9dBi antenna cant even connect to the wifi even when placed in the exact same position as the 5dBi antenna. I didn't try without the base since the antenna needs to be outside and the old antenna doesn't unscrew from its base like this one.The second use is I need a better Bluetooth antenna for my PC and for this it works a little better than the stock one. I suspect the cable is too long to be used without some kind of booster negating most of the benefit of being able to move the antenna without moving the PC. I tried the antenna in the same spot with and without the base and got better overall performance without the base. In my case the PC is in a fairly central location and the only situation where the base and cable has an advantage is when taking out the trash, so I would rather have a stationary antenna and pause when taking out the trash than move the antenna around for different situations.ConclusionDon't get this for the magnetic base unless you plan to put it on a horizontal surface and absolutely need 10ft of cable to clear some WiFi or BT blocking obstacle like an exterior wall with aluminium backed insulation or metal building like a machine shed. If 5ft of cable is enough then search for that version but I bet the magnet is just as bad. I also doubt the antenna is actually 9dBi and is much closer to 5dBi if even that much. I gave it 2 stars for not being completely useless but it comes close.

I bought this wifi booster because I kept losing the wifi signal on my PC, which is located several rooms away from the wireless router in our house. I had previously used an antenna which directly screws into the wifi adapter card on the back of my PC. In contrast, this particular antenna sits on my desk and is connected to my PC by a wire cable whose tip screws into the wifi adapter card on the back of my PC.With this wifi booster, my wifi signal is much, much better now, and I never lose the connection.My only complaint is that the wifi signal isn't always at full capacity. However, it is possible that this mild issue may not be the fault of this wifi booster but rather due to my router or some other outside interference I am not currently aware of.

The listing indicates that the magnet has been improved for added strength. If this is supposed to be an improvement, then there must not have even been a magnet in there before because it will not stick to anything and the wind not blow it over. Very poor signal improvement over a stock 3" antenna, in fact the stock may be better. I mainly purchased this because of the magnet as I want to stick it to the roof of my truck and it just slides off.I can not recommend this product to anyone. DO NOT BUY!!!!! F--------------------

My Sense consumption meter is installed inside my main electrical panel. The included Sense antenna gave me intermittent coverage since my WiFi antenna was inside my house, while the Sense antenna was outside in my backyard. I'm not sure how much boost the Wi-Fi 9dBi Booster Long Range Antenna gave me, but it was certainly enough boost to make a solid connection for me. Great price and easy to install.

Excellent and cheap! Arrived quickly and ready to go. The magnet is very weak, but setting on a flat horizontal surface it doesnt get blown over by the wind. NOT for vertical surface mounting

The antennas work the way I need them to but, the magnet on the base doesn't even stick to metal enough to hold them up.

This magnet will not hold the antenna in place. It falls right off any metal surface.

these things really work, improving my wi-fi signal to my cameras.
