Daily Essentials: Activities for Pregnancy Comfort and Easier Birth

Mostly good
This dvd is the best prenatal exercise dvd I have used. I notice a huge difference in my back and hip aches and the position of my baby if I skip a day. If I take a day off my baby creeps up under my ribs and my hips ache when I sleep on them. I have been doing it every day in my third trimester as well as quite often during my second. The yoga flow sequence is mostly the same exercises as the "daily activities" just sped up into a "flow" sequence. Its nice. You do the daily activities for a while and then progress to the flow sequence. The only reason I am taking a star off is because I find the end of both sequences really uncomfortable. I think its a long time for a pregnant woman to be on her back. I feel really uncomfortable so I do just the "bridge" exercises and then I do the other things in the seated alternative position. I've never seen "flat on your back" exercises in any other prenatal dvd.

and my doula recommended Spinning Babies to me
This is my first pregnancy, and my doula recommended Spinning Babies to me. The concept seems like a fabulous one, and it makes a lot of sense. I have been doing the daily essential activities for a week now, and I feel more stretched and strengthened every time I do them. Narration is soothing, and the explanation of the movements really helped me feel like I was doing these exercises for more than just a feel good stretch. Some flaws for me were that it is difficult to find my place during the sequence if I need to pause, especially as I memorize them and need to go back to review only one exercise, and that when she recommends that I do 10 of an exercise, only three are preformed. However, it is not enough for me to give it less than five stars. I have yet to do the yoga sequence, but I have a feeling it will be good. :)

Everything I was hoping for!
Fantastic DVD with great information. I am 29 weeks pregnant and my little guy has seemed to prefer a breech or transverse position which is very uncomfortable for me. So I decided to give this a try and after two days of doing the recommended inversion and the daily movements, he flipped head down π― could be a coincidence? Maybe? But he has stayed head down now for the two days. No more kicks to the bladder. I find the yoga flow to be extremely therapeutic and relaxing. I will definitely be doing this practice and following the recommendations for the rest of my pregnancy.

Great stretches for pregnancy
I did the Yoga Flow portion of this DVD from about 28 weeks until I had my baby. I felt it helped me avoid some of the aches and pains of pregnancy. It was my third pregnancy and my daughter was in a transverse position until pretty late, but by the time I had her she was head down in a posterior facing position.

Excellent for all expectant mothers.
The gentle stretches instructed in this DVD bring balance to sore, achy muscles. Balanced muscles determine the child's position which can provide for an uncomplicated delivery verses a C-section. My child was beech into the eighth month, about a week of following these stretches and a few beech specific listed on her website, my son turned and ended up having a smooth, uncomplicated delivery.

Has helped so much with pregnancy pains!!
I'm in my 34th week of pregnancy and having horrible round ligament pain that leaves me in tears at times. I got this DVD to help alleviate the pain and it has done just that!!! I have been doing it every night since receiving it a week ago and I've noticed such a difference. The yoga flow sequence is my favorite and it relaxes my whole body before going to bed. This new routine also seems to have helped with my restless leg at night symptoms. Another feature I love about the DVD is that it shows you the best ways to rest, walk and even use the restroom (best way to sit) in order to help your body stay strong and keep your pelvis heathy and properly aligned. A must have for any pregnant momma.

Great for pregnancy
I am usually a pretty active person, going on walks, hikes, and the occasional 1 mile jog. I am trying to have a natural birth & wanted to keep my body as limber as possible during pregnancy. My doula recommended this. I find that the stretches in the video feel so good & keep me limber, especially as it usually doesn't feel good to lie straight on my back. When I'm done it doesn't feel bad anymore. I do the daily essentials about once every week or so which takes 35 mins. The midwife narrator is a bit of a hippie but overall it's a great video for pregnancy.
