Perfect for Year-Round Camping!
I recently installed the OutEquip 12V 10,000 BTU AC/Heater on my camper, and I’m seriously impressed. The installation was super easy — everything fit perfectly and worked right out of the box. It’s incredibly efficient and quiet, and it gives my family real peace of mind knowing we have reliable heat for winter camping and cool air for the warmer months. Whether we’re out in the desert heat or up in the mountains during winter, this unit keeps us comfortable. I highly recommend it to anyone who camps or travels year-round and wants a dependable, energy-efficient setup.

Sleek Design
Great product, it works as expected. Easy to install and has a sleek design. This unit replaced an older Coleman Mach 3 unit which was roughly 80 pounds. The lighter weigh of the Summit 2 unit (roughly 45 pounds) made it much easier to complete a solo install. The unit is also much quieter than the Coleman Mach 3 making it much more pleasant to use while sleeping. The installation was straight forward and un-complicated. The instructions are printed in large font with detailed illustrations. I had the unit on the roof and running with no help in just under 2 hours. I had a few questions regarding the install and customer service responded within a day. I have a 302ah lifepo4 system charging off of 200w of solar. The Summit 2 on Eco mode draws around 16amps so this easily lets me run the unit throughout the night and charge back up during the day. The variable speed compressor is an absolute game changer for anyone looking to conserve as much battery as they can. I tested the unit in the 92 degree PNW heat and it cooled my van down to 76 degrees in under an hour. The combined value and quality of the unit is definitely a win for anyone looking to keep their off-grid rig cool on a budget.

Game-Changer for Full-Time Bus Life – Quiet, Powerful, and Perfect for Off-Grid Living
I’ve been living full-time in my 24-foot converted school bus for almost three years without air conditioning. Summers were brutally uncomfortable, and my travels were limited to cooler regions because visiting my favorite southern and southwestern states was nearly impossible during peak heat. This year, I decided enough was enough and started researching rooftop AC units that were efficient, low-profile, and designed for off-grid living. I came across OutEquip Pro and their 12V rooftop air conditioner, and it has completely transformed my life on the road. It runs directly off my battery system, which is perfect since I almost exclusively boondock. With 920 amp hours of lithium batteries and 1,200W of solar, I needed something that wouldn’t drain my power while still delivering strong cooling. Performance: Cooling capacity: 10,000 BTUs Power draw: 58 amps (Turbo), 29 amps (Eco), 21 amps (Sleep), 4.5 amps (Fan Only) Heating capacity (optional version): 4,500 BTUs At 45 lbs and just 6.3 inches tall, it’s lightweight and sleek compared to bulkier RV AC units. The noise level is impressively low, thanks to inverter compressor technology. Even on Turbo mode, it’s not disruptive — the loudest moment is when it first kicks on, and even then it’s minimal. In 85–90°F weather, my bus cooled down from sweltering to comfortable (around 72–73°F) within 20–30 minutes. Most days, I don’t even need Turbo; Eco mode combined with a vent fan keeps the temperature very comfortable while drawing far less power. Battery Use: With my system, running the AC for 3–4 hours at peak heat only consumes about 10% of my battery capacity, which is phenomenal. OutEquip Pro’s run-time estimates were very accurate. If you’re plugged into shore power, power use isn’t a concern, but even fully off-grid, this unit is highly efficient. Installation: I had mine professionally installed by North Bay Adventure Vans due to rewiring and adding a second battery. For most people, installation should take just a few hours, depending on skill level and tools. The Verdict: This unit has been a complete game-changer for my quality of life and travel flexibility. It’s quiet, efficient, and perfect for full-time nomads, RVers, or van lifers who need reliable cooling without sacrificing precious battery power. I highly recommend it to anyone living off-grid who wants comfort without compromise.

Game changer for off grid use!
Amazing product for the price, it works as expected. Easy to install and has a sleek design. The low profile size made it possible for an abundance of solar on the roof This 12v unit replaced an older Coleman Mach 3 which was roughly 90 or so pounds. The lighter weigh (almost half) made it much easier to complete a solo install. The new 12v is also much quieter then the old previous 110 volt ac unit. The installation were straight forward and un-complicated. The instructions are printed in large font with detailed illustrations. I installed the ac on my own over the course of 2 nights. Working a little bit each night. One thing is I wish they offered a bigger variety of hardware for those roofs that are a little bit thicker then others I have a 600ah lifepo4 system charging off of 2200 watts of solar. The Summit 2 on Eco mode draws around 16amps so this easily lets me run the unit throughout the night and charge back up during the day. The variable speed compressor is an absolute game changer for anyone looking to conserve as much battery as they can. Very little power draw compared to the previous 110v unit. I opted for the heat pump also. Which definitely takes the chill out on a chilly day. Highly recommend this lo profile ac unit for anyone off grid trying to run off battery power
