Brian has been readily available to answer my wife's (seemingly endless) quesions and inquiries. She is a 5 year cancer survivor and intends to stay that way. We both got off the fish oil and switched to PEO's and follow the 24-Hour Diet plan. I went from size 40 waist to size 34 while maintaining and actually building muscle (of course this was in conjunction with a proper weight training and exercise regimen), feel better than ever and have more energy at 54 years of age than I can remember in the past 20 years. Just the other day a co-worker remarked on my physique - a compliment I have not heard since I was in my 20's and weighed a muscular 230 pounds - but now I weigh 190 and look even better!Although there are products offered such as the right blend of PEOs, Mr. Peskin in no way forces the issue or states that they are required - the reader can formulate the correct ratio of PEOs using readily available oils - but we have found these products to be moderately priced and much easier to use.I can't recommend this book highly enough. It just might be one of the most meaningful and life-changing books you will ever read.

THE 24 HOUR DIET WORKS IF YOU FOLLOW THE RULES
This book gives me great insight into what my body needs. I am following the information in it and getting great success without having to guard against every thing I put in my mouth. The PEO's and minerals are working well. I have had much trouble sleeping in the past however now I am sleeping longer, sounder and refreshed when I get up with more energy. There is no magic pill but I am finding low carb and the PEO's and minerals plus good food are the key. I eat full fat foods no low calorie, organic eggs and meats and low carb recipes from Prof. Peskins book and from on line. If you follow the instructions read the information in the book carefully and the back news letters form his sight it works. I find now that after about a month or so my carb desire has dropped and so has my body fat from 125 to 119 lbs. Frid. and Sat I indulge in some of my favorites like a couple of slices of pizza a grilled sourdough burger pan fried potatoes ect. Knowing what the bad oils do to our body I don't like to venture to far. I always said there had to be a better way of eating without giving up taste and I was right to bad it took me so long to find it. At 62 years old I am in pretty good shape and have tried a lot of diets and heard a lot of lies but this works. Arm yourself with education of the true facts I believe from Professor Peskin's news letters which I printed and read and continue to go over my body is at peace. Remember when you remove the majority of the carbs you may be sluggish at first but don't give up. I workout at least 3 times a week with no carbs just 2 PEO's 20 minutes before workout and no carbs for 2 hours after working out. I just brown 4 oz. of bison scramble 2 eggs in with it using coconut oil and a little butter, coffee with heavy whipping cream and stevia if I want sweetener after my workout.

Very enlightening nutrition guide
I'm already taking parent essential oils according to Prof. Peskin's formula with great results so I was excited to get my hands on his weight management book. Although I believe he gets carried away a few times, especially on the topic of soy, this is by far the most enlightening treatise on nutrition I have ever read. Prof. Peskin doesn't just dispel certain significant nutritional myths, he backs up his assertions with study and research results going back as far as some 100 or more years. I am very pleased to see that the Livestrong web site appears to have picked up Prof. Peskin's 24-hour diet recommendations. The science behind this diet is so transparent and obvious (in hindsight for me, unfortunately) that no nutritionist or medical professional can hide any longer behind false assumptions and misguided opinions about nutrition and weight management. Everyone who has ever struggled with body weight can apparently rest assured that the truth is finally out thanks to Prof. Peskin's efforts. Now, if we only could some real scientific answer to the issue of soy I'd be even happier. The book reads more like a medical text book than I anticipated but that shouldn't stop you! Highly recommended.

Same info, different book
I had purchased The PEO Solution, written by the same author, a few weeks prior to purchasing this book. This book says NOTHING different than the other book that I'd read. I'm returning it.

Good info about why carbs make you fat
Lots of info to help you lose weight by eating low carb. I used a low carb diet for a while and it worked great. I'm about to do another round of it but I wanted to know more about my body's needs and this helped my understanding a lot.

Very helpful book. This is not an ordinary diet book with common advices. This book teaches you how to think. Food for thoughts.

Types of PEO omega-6 derivatives still unexplained
To tell the truth, I was a bit disappointed that the book did not go into more detail about the PEOs (Parent Essential Oils) that the author keeps alluding to, and even when I had read the whole book, I did not find any in-depth information on these parent oils of Omega-6 type. I would like to have seen a table naming the parent Omega-6 (LA, linoleic acid) with all the "derivative" oils such as all the common vegetable oils named e.g. corn, rapeseed, sunflower, soy, cottonseed, etc, with their respective merits and disadvantages, as well as the less usual omega-6 oils such as evening primrose, borage, and other beneficial seed and nut oils which he never once mentions by name in the book. There is however mention of butter, ghee, coconut, and palm as good oils for cooking. The ratio between omega-6 to omega-3 should be more than 1:1 and less than 2.5 to 1. The omega-6s should be unprocessed, natural oils and not the unhealthy adulterated cooking oils such as corn oil with its 45:1 ratio. The scientific support he claims for his statements usually is just a reference to one clinical trial so how do we know it is not just cherry-picking to show the one review that supports his theory? The book is from 2007 so nutritional science has moved on since then, although as he points out, mainstream dogma is slow to adopt new findings. I would perhaps give the book a 3+ or a 4-, but feel I need to do further research on the oils and fats on the internet - something I had hoped would have been addressed in more depth in the book.
