I received my 5 lb bag of Purple Majesty seed potatoes on March 20, 2026, and I am beyond impressed with the results so far! After doing my research, everything I found said to plant them directly in the ground—no need to grow slips—so that’s exactly what I did. By April 7th, I saw the very first signs of life: small, dark purple shoots pushing through the soil. At first, I honestly thought it might be fungus 😄, but just a few days later (April 11th), those same spots clearly developed into healthy leaves. Now here we are on April 15th, and the growth has taken off beautifully! The plants have grown taller, with that rich purple at the base and vibrant green leaves emerging strong. The transformation in just a matter of days has been amazing to watch. I’ve planted some in the ground and some in containers, and both are doing well. I’ll be adding photos to show the progression—from the original bag, to first sprouts, to where they are now. Definitely a phenomenal product. These seed potatoes are healthy, vigorous, and off to a great start. I’m excited to see what harvest looks like! Highly recommend!

Apprehensive about ordering starter potatoes from Amazon but no one in my area had any. When they showed up they looked fine and had plenty of eyes showing. Within 7-10 days of planting they all sprouted and have have been growing great since.

I'm so disgusted with the quality of these purple potatoes, I'm going to throw the whole lot away. They were lost in a huge amount of soil to disguise the number that were rotten right through. Those left are old and shrivelled. Some were white potatoes. Honestly, I would be ashamed to sell such low level quality potatoes in the name of majesty. They don't even reach the standard of 'reasonable quality'. I've taken a picture for you to judge for yourself. Needless to say, I'm furious.

Potato seeds were beautiful and healthy. I planted them around May 15th in central Arkansas. I raked up leaves and topsoil and layered about 4 inches deep and put down the potatoes in cardboard boxes. Barely covered with hay. Was going to finish the next day but I got sick and neglected them for about 2 weeks. Then layered barely an inch with same. Then I got a heart test with complications. No anything 10 days. I knew I messed up my potatoes. Then I got a concussion. Hope was to get a few seeds for next year. Today is June 2nd. I saw a box had torn. I thought I had nothing to loose and I pulled up 3 plants. No blooms yet On those plants. Wow. I had 10 potatoes from marble to small egg size. 4 were egg size. 3 were small yolk size and 3 marble. Considering the time in the ground. That was amazing. I am going to make a good crop. Imagine if I had done anything right or on time. Steamed them and ate with butter and cavenders greek seasoning. So good. I cut the tops down to 3 inches and replanted the plants. You can do this to get a few more potatoes. I have used super thrive on them twice and a 3rd time today. I hope I take pictures or video when harvesting.

They didn't look like much when I got them but these aggressive growers shot up like fireworks and just couldn't be stopped. When it gets super hot out, they will sort of hibernate until it cools....so patience is key. They taste great even raw. Beautiful experience very exciting

A few 2/3 came with rot and had to be throw out, but the other 15 or so where quite nice. These tend to be only slightly larger than fingerlings where the blue Adirondack came much larger like an Idaho potato

All the seedlings were well formed and beginning their buds. After planting they showed green shoots above the soil within a week. I planted the seedlings thinking it would take almost a month for the sprouts to show. I am very well pleased with the crop.

I didn't receive the full 3lbs even with all the dirt in the bag. All the potatoes were shriveled but show some chits. A few of the sprouts were broken off in the bag. A couple are rotten and there are a few very small potatoes that I don't even see any eyes on them. Feel cheated on a purchase I was really looking forward too. Disappointed.
