Draw-Tite Activator® IV Trailer Brake Controller, Timed, 1 to 4 Axles

This is a replacement controller that is used on a tandem axle trailer with 4 wheel brakes. Just bolt in place and no need to do any angle adjustments. All you do is set gain and time from 1 to 3 seconds for where the brake gain is set. My trailer is 1.5 empty and 3 with a car on it for gain. No problem stopping when loaded or empty. Highly recommend this controller and very small in size.

This works very well. Basic, but solid. Installed in my RAM 1500 hemi to control the brakes of a car trailer that i pull 100s of miles at highway speeds. Instructions are very lacking - that said, their tech support was very helpful. Wise up guys - instructions save you money in support calls! Get the harness! They make them for most cars/trucks. Once installed i dialed in my brakes and its trouble free. Beware the ones with accelerometers; they demand that you install them on a flat, level surface which really limits your options. get the cheap, simple one.

Easy hook up, I didn't even mount it in my tacoma just sits in the tray. Used an adapter to the pre-wired cord and was good to go. Tricky to figure out how to adjust it at first as the trailers brakes were sticky. Left it high for the mountains but city driving have to turn it down real low. Works as advertised though

I've bought my second one to replace the first one. It lasted about 2 years and then randomly had a error while it wasn't even in use.

Very Good Product. Easy to install when you have a wire jack on the truck like we do in our Tundra. It made braking in our 9,500 lb travel trailer much more effective. I wouldn't pull a trailer without a manual brake controller such as this - EVER!!! It allows you to increase braking strength and power on the trailer brakes when you're going down a steep grade. This saves the truck brakes. Before installation of this controller, our truck brakes would begin to chatter after a couple of miles of downhill. The only problem I had was that during installation, I somehow tweaked the wiring to the brake sensor on the Tundra. It caused the truck's computer to delay acceleration to the engine on takeoff. Toyota re-adjusted the sensor at no charge, thankfully. The truck was still under warranty.

AWESOME product. This little guy is small and easy to install out of the way. I don't know much about the settings, which may sound dumb for a review, however, my last one had only GAIN setting and my electric trailer tires kept locking up. I thought it was something wrong with the brakes and had adjusted them multiple times. This has two settings and completely fixed my lock up problems. This was $20-25 less than a big name brand parts supply store too. I pull a two axle trailer about once a month.It's was an easy plug and play, nothing else to do on my 2013 Toyota Tundra.

I bought this brand because two other trucks already had them. Get used to the way one works, the others will be the same, no? We'll see. Function, durability, yet to be seen. I have one big gripe. With the control buttons mounted on the top, there was no way to mount the thing under the dash, and be able to use the buttons. I am a mechanic and a commercial truck driver. I own trucks ranging from 1/2 ton to tractor / trailer. The shape of this thing, combined with the furnished bracket, did not allow it to be installed, conveniently, on any of those trucks. The shape is fine, if you want to mount it on top of something. I'd happily trade all the ergonomic sculpting for a rectangular box that works.

This was my first time installing a brake controller. The instructions were very thorough you only need a few tools to install.

Work well, used it on a 28” travel trailer!. Works great easy to installed.One thing to keep in mind when you install theses aftermarket brake controller, they will cancel your cruise control, it seems to be a common problem. I accept that I do not need my cruise control, there are no solution for this issues.

10 minutes to install.. $600.00 then factory one...

Used this item approx 5 times before it malfunctioned. Error codes.....got nothing from the retailer.....Bayer had gone by already.
