Just as good as Midland, lower price, comes with more features included.
I've been using these S.A.M.E. All Hazards radios for many years. Started with Midland WR-300 'deluxe' style, both died right outside warranty. No longer sold by Midland, probably because such rubbish. Still using a Midland W120, but wanted one for upstairs so I don't sleep through an event without knowing about it. This Emgykit MD319 is just as good as the Midland W120, looks better (not a big white thing), and speaker of better quality, sounds much better than my Midland radios did/do. And most importantly, COMES with an external alert strobe, great for my hearing loss so as not to miss an alert. Also COMES with an external wire antenna that plugs into RCA jack on back. The bonus alert strobe alone makes this a great value, the one Midland sells separately costs almost as much as this entire radio kit! Has all the features the Midland does, and if it lasts, will be the only brand I buy from now on.

Great product very helpful during crazy OK storms!!
Fast shipping and easy set up, directions are easy to follow. Setting up the county code is a little tricky but once you google your county its pretty straightforward. We get all the alerts as soon as our county is warned. I really like how fast the alerts come across and with 3 volume levels you can tune have it wake up the whole house if you want. Highly recommend this product! Surprisingly good reception with the extra antenna. Screen is nice and bright and easy to read. It's nice and compact size is helpful to place in any number of areas. Has great functionality as you can turn alerts off and on as desired. Seems to be durable so far.

Nice Radio
Works well for weather emergencies. It is difficult to program so unable yet to use all the functions but the tornado watch/warning was perfect.

Exactly what we wanted!
Great weather radio. My daughter loves it and it was pretty simple to set up and program. The manual that comes with it was pretty simple to understand. There are tons of alert features that can be enabled and disabled, which is nice. Highly recommend.

Great quality, nice features
Seems to be put together very well. Easy-to-follow directions, with a NWS website to find your state and county S.A.M.E. codes. Only one suggestion: I wish that when in test mode, the light would flash too just so you're aware that it is working.

Weather Alert warning will definitely wake you during the night
Seems like the tornadoes are getting stronger and more frequent so I ordered this weather alert warning system. The alarm is loud enough to wake us in the night. The alarm goes off before my phone or tv alert, every second counts when there’s a tornado. It has battery backup in the event power goes out. Very pleased with my purchase. Works as it should. Not difficult to set up if you read directions.

Poor reception causes unit to NOT WORK!
My return window expired so I am stuck with it but it has ZERO signal in an area that the Midland radio worked fine in. It frequently says CHECK RECEPTION even when the secondary antenna is attached. I have had it on for about 3 months and it has never gone off, even during tests that it should have based on the programming that I set up.

Get's all the notifications - Maybe TOO many - Retro look if you want that
First, this thing looks like it came out of the 60's and it's bigger than I expected. Why? This isn't a piece of tech I want to show off, it's a weather radio. It should be discreet until needed. If you don't care about looks, it's the most bang you can get for the buck. It comes with the external antenna you can use perhaps more discreetly than the telescoping antenna and a red light to make the alert highly visible. Beyond that, it's big, ugly (IMO) and gives you TOO MANY ALERTS. I live in tornado alley. All I want is tornado, severe thunderstorms and flash flood WARNINGS. You can go through the tedious task of turning them all on/off individually but I want to control ALL of them. I don't need "Contagious Disease" alerts. I have a cell phone for that. I don't need earthquake or hurricane alerts. Admittedly, my SAME code eliminates them, but I have family in those areas, but I can't control what alerts I get. They tell you the default ones are on, but you can't tell what the defaults are without going through them all. The process took me about 30 minutes. The instructions were generally thorough, but the buttons were pretty hard to press and it got old. You can't set the siren AND voice, which is odd. I'd like to have the audible siren followed by voice. Ideally, I'd like to set it by time so it makes more noise overnight, but that's a lot to ask for the price. I've got mine tucked out of sight, but I sure wish I had this radio/features in something that blended into the average countertop and not off the Starship Enterprise.
