During their tonsure (religious profession) Eastern Orthodox monks and nuns receive a prayer rope, with the words: Accept, O brother (sister) (name), the sword of the Spirit which is the word of God (Ephesians 6:17) in the everlasting Jesus prayer by which you should have the name of the Lord in your soul, your thoughts, and your heart, saying always: "Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me a sinner." Orthodoxy regards the prayer rope as the sword of the Spirit, because prayer which is heartfelt and inspired by the grace of the Holy Spirit is a weapon that defeats the Devil. Review: I’m so happy with this purchase! - Beautiful, fitting well and very easy to put on and stay on bracelet. Very special too because of the meaning it carries. Would recommend to all my friends! Review: Meaningful & Thoughtful Gift - This handmade Orthodox Komboskoini prayer rope bracelet turned out to be such a meaningful gift. I got it for my teen son, who has been studying different religions and has recently taken a strong interest in the Christian Orthodox faith. He was truly drawn to it right away. It’s simple, well-made, and has a quiet, thoughtful presence that makes it feel special without being flashy. The adjustable cord makes it easy to wear comfortably every day. I appreciate how it gives him something tangible to connect with as he learns and explores. It’s been a lovely way to support his curiosity and growing understanding in a respectful and personal way. If you’re looking for a small but meaningful gift for someone exploring their faith or learning about different traditions, this is a beautiful option.

Beautiful not functional
This is the perfect size and it is a beautiful bracelet. The only problem is that it doesn’t stay cinched.

Too small.
I don’t know what wrist this is supposed to fit around...

Smaller than expected
Only one string moves, the other one is stuck. This does go over my big hand.

Very nice!
Highly recommended!

Adjustable!
Every other prayer rope/bracelet I've had it quickly becomes unusable because the knots stretch too much when taking it on/off. The adjustable ties make this last and fit right! Highly recommend for anyone who had similar problems I faced.

Piece of junk
This was a total was of my money wore it one day and it fell apart. This thing is so cheap. There’s no sense of returning it as my time is more valuable than this. This belongs on another site not a quality site like Amazon

Beautiful but small
Absolutely beautiful. Only issue is that it is quite small for an adult wrist.
