Added this to the rock tumbler when the rocks sounded like they were falling and clanking instead of rolling and swishing. Sounded much better after. And keep the rocks from breaking and probably help them polish better. (From what I've read.) By the way, this is not a toy. I'm 70, and I've always wanted a rock polisher. I'm using it for real.

It doesnt seem to hold a lot of rocks . I tumbled for a month and they still needed to be in much longer. If you have patience then this is for you!

Used and reused across 3 tumbling sessions. There was some wear but the media is still usable. No crumbling, no breakage of any pellets.
