WALRUS OIL - Wood Wax, 3 oz Can, FDA Food-Safe, Cutting Board Wax and Board Cream

This is a terrific product for protecting and extending the life of your wooden cutting boards and wooden salad bowls. I applied it, as directed, and instantly could see how it improves the appearance and ease of cleaning of my boards and bowls. I have reapplied it at least once on the cutting boards and find that it keeps the boards from having deep cuts in the wood. It may also work to keep the knives sharp, too. I like that it is food safe, so no issue with food. For my needs, the 3 oz can will go a long way. I didn't notice any scent. In my book, it is clearly worth it to protect something that I use every day in my kitchen.

So I didn’t soak my cutting board in mineral oil before applying the wax so the wood looks a little dull and Cloudy, not lustrous like it should. Learn from my mistakes. This stuff smells a little weird at first but that wears off. great conditioner and really holds on to the board for a long time. Also very water resistant. I’d buy it again, just have to work on my finishing skills is all *Update* Made another cutting board. drenched it in mineral oil for an hour or so. Rubbed off the excess and applied the wax as directed. AMAZING FINISH! Love this stuff, glad I gave it another shot!

This wax is a great maintenance wax for wooden cutting boards. Easy to apply and seems to maintain the water resistance of the board. I used it on a maple amd walnut board that I made. I first soaked the board in Walrus Oil for a couple of days until it didn't seem to be able to soak up any more oil. Then I wiped it down and let it dry for about 24 hours. I then wiped it down with the wood wax, and do so as well after every dozen or so washes. It can be difficult to tell if you are applying enough, but thin layers are the right way to go. This is a great choice for maintaining your wooden cutting boards. Definitely recommended.

I bought this to use to conditions some wood cutting board that i combine with resin pours to sell as an artist. I love how it gives the wood, a nice, smooth, soft look. I also like it because it is safe and easy to use. You just rub it on and rub it off.

My husband and I had seen woodworkers online recommending this. We ordered some and have been really pleased with it. We have used it on several cutting boards and charcuterie boards. We liked it so much that we ordered more for other projects.

Love the finish it provides

The only products I use on our cutting boards, the wax gives a nice sheen and extra protection. Buff it on after oiling and the buff it off 15 or so minutes later.

This was my first experience using wax on my woodworking projects, and I was genuinely impressed by the results. The wax provided an exceptional shine that brought out the beauty of the wood grain and created a durable finish that I expect to last for a long time. However, one minor challenge I encountered was removing the wax from the container, as its texture is quite firm. I discovered that placing the can in a warm water bath softens the wax significantly, making it much easier to work with. Many people claim that this is the best wax available, and after trying it myself, I have to wholeheartedly agree. It's a fantastic product that exceeded my expectations.

I bought this to finish my inkle loom with the thought that any leftovers could be used to refinish my chopping boards. It's done a fantastic job on my loom and was very easy to apply.
