Why is this not recommended for acrylic aquariums?

My guess is bc acrylic scratches a lot easier.

If i wanted to cut this in half, how would i go about safely doing it? it was bigger than i thought

The rock is hollow inside. If you cut it in half there will be a big hole in the middle. It is resin material, you can easily reshape it with a hand saw. Just make sure to avoid cutting the magnets.

Could it work just a a rock to hold frags on the sand bed or would it float?

It’s heavy enough it should not float
