SwissGear Hybrid Travel Laptop Backpack, Heather Grey, 18-Inch

I love it when a purchase exceeds expectations! This backpack is perfect for weekend trips. The fact that it opens wide like a suitcase makes packing so easy. There are several zippered compartments on the outside of the bag for stashing small items. The laptop compartment is well protected. Inside the bag are thoughtful organizing mesh dividers which will keep your cloths in place no matter which way the bag is carried. The quality of the bag is very good. Zippers all work smoothly although the laptop pocket zipper was a little catchy at first. I think that was due to the bag being compressed in shipment. Comes with a five year warranty. A great find!

I bought this to replace the same model which I bought about 10 years ago. That one recently started to rip after years of travel, use and abuse. These are great backpacks for travel since they have a zippered mesh divider on one side of the main pocket whic is ideal for holding a change of clothes. The other side is good for smaller items, snacks, chargers, cables, etc. There is also a seperate, well protected laptop/tablet compartment which is in the back. I easily got my 13" laptop in its protective pouch and my tablet in there together. Ulitmately I did return the new one but only because I decided to chaneg my packing protocol and not to have the need to carry a change of clothing in the backpack when I travel. As a result I chose a different style SwissGear backpack which was more suited to my ciurrent travel requirements. Overall I highly recommend this one as a travel bag for carrying on the plane and even for a 2-3 road trip without the need for an additional bag.

It holds a lot and you can loosen or tighten it to hold more or less things. I love the inner pocket. Was great in a recent trip to Europe where space was at a premium. Thanks Swiss Gear!

I have a box to test for frontier. This backpack WON'T work for frontier. It's too tall and you can't fold the top or anything to make it fit. Otherwise it's an awesome backpack. Zipper is smooth and I like that it unzips like a carry on.

I thought Swissgear had figured a way to create more space from the same amount of space, but in practice, this doesn't hold enough to travel for more than 1-2 days. I could put the same stuff in any backpack. There wasn't any upside to buying a separate bag from any existing backpack, and it's not big enough as an actual weekend bag that will hold 3-4 days' worth. I returned it so have no info on durability etc. Other Swissgear luggage I have bought have been well made and lasted forever.

I’m one of those people that buys backpacks as a hobby and in the quest for the “perfect fit”. I think this may be my last one! It comes with everything you’d look for in a backpack. Pockets, smooth sliding zippers, lightweight, versatile carrying style, among others. I can carry my iPad, 2 phones, 3 earbuds, Rog ally, 15’ Asus laptop, Nintendo switch, hygiene products, Xbox Elite 2 controller with the case with room to spare. The only complaint would be that the zippers tend to come open but that’s because I have multiple bag ornaments on them. Great purchase and thank you for not letting me bleed more money by purchasing more !!

I use this as my carryon for international travel. This held up really well, and doesn't show signs of wear despite going through security and getting tossed around in the overhead bins. This holds more than you might think. A full weekend worth of clothes, your laptop, various chargers, water bottle, headphones, chargers, battery pack...you get the idea. It's perfect because I don't have to worry about not having a change of clothes if I hit my destination before my checked baggage. Of course, I also use it for actual weekend trips where I only have to pack this bag. This is actually my second of these bags. The original is still very functional, but 5 years in, it's starting to show some wear. Not losing any function, just that the original bright red is starting to look a little grungy. I still use it for personal travel. I think that in itself is probably the highest praise I can offer.

So. You know the big problem or aggravation with a backpack type bag?? According to Murphy's Law what you want is at the bottom. so you have to dig out all the stuff you in the bag to get the the thing you want. Never fails. all sorts of neat little compartments just mean you have to look through all those compartments to find it. If your bag is on the back of a motorcycle you feel like an idiot and it takes time and now everyone knows what you have in the bag. with this suitcase type opening bag I can mount it to the back of the bag with a few extra straps and when I need to get to what I want I unzip the lid flip it open and ALL is there easily identified and found. it's quick so others wont see what you have rather than setting the thing you don't want of the seat or bars while you dig. I can also use it for air travel or train or bus same deal. It will also work like a back pack just don't unzip it all the way. NICE BAG!!!!

I was looking for a travel backpack. The bag was a bit small for my needs and impractical. It would be better if the packing area was towards the back of the backpack rather than the front for easier packing. Ended up returning.
