Like other quality Nagura stones - this one produces the expected sharpening slurry when used with a corresponding waterstone. It is a bit larger than some other brands that I've tried - so it should last a bit longer

Packaged very well, consistent uniform grain, very easy to produce slurry and sharpened with ease. Very high quality besting stones that cost twice as much. Highly recommend!

For these times (Nov 2021), that counts as excellent.SUEHIRO NAGURA #5000 Grit: does what it should - produces useful slurry for polishing stones 1000-6000 Grit - don't use much, just a bit of a swipe on the stone until you can see it. For flattening uneven stones, use a diamond plate - and sharpen using an even, smooth technique over the whole stone surface to minimise and even eliminate the need to flatten stones. For cleaning stones that have discoloration, use the rust erasers. See youtube Burrfection.
