It's similar to my old UK issue e-tool, but clearly a different metal... I don't think it will last as long. - I'll replace it when I next go to a army surplus shop. Does anyone want to buy this half price??? Haha

very handy little tool, great for camping. fits into any backpack. German army use it - so it must be quality :-)

Excellent value and quality
I use this spade regularly and have to say I'm very impressed. It folds up into a light, easily carried package with a convenient case that can easily be clipped to a belt, for the weight of it you might be fooled into thinking it might not be tough enough for sturdy jobs but I use it for metal detecting in a very stoney area and the worst it's suffered is slight chipping and wear on the paintwork. It doesn't bend or buckle (as long as you make sure it's set up properly before using, which is very straightforward) and you can give it a good shove with your boot, into the ground, and the worst it will do is just go no further due to rocks in the way, which it can also easily move as it levers really well. It has a saw edge which is great for hacking through roots and matted ground, I can't recommend this enough!

Cheap Copy perhaps not Cheaply Priced
It is certainly a German Folding Shovel, I don't believe it is a German Army Folding Shovel. (Made by MFH Int Cop)The buisiness end is similar but not the same. It is probably made of inferior materials.It is brand new and not grade 1. No marking of any kind on shovel or carrier. Carrier comes with 2x ALICE type clips.Probably okay for light work. Edge NOT sharp as described, unless by "sharp" you mean blunt.......The locking nut locks up completely and becomes unable to undo on first unfolding. I had to dismantle the handle to loosen it off on several first openings. I have since packed the thread with grease and avoid tightening it.+ Copy of established design- Not as cheap in price as it should be Locking nut jams on VERY easily ie ONE gentle twist requiring dismantling

Nun benutze ich den Spaten nicht jeden Tag, und er liegt bei mir im Kofferraum zum Notfallset, aber wenn ich etwas ausgegraben habe, hat er immer stabil gegengehalten.

Der 3 in eins klappspaten hatte ich auch bei der bundes wehr den kann wie das wort schon sagt einklappen,als hake oder kraben die Wurzeln schneidet der Spaten gut durch preis war super und auch schnell geliefert ach die hülle ist aus Kunststoff.und kann die am Gürtel oder wie damals an die kabel anbringen die wo bei der Bundeswehr waren in den 90er die wissen was ich meine.gr.
