Bags arrived and looked as described. Stitching seems good and the material feels like it will last quite awhile. I used about 7 1/2 lbs. of weighted plastic beads to fill both bags.

Seems a good setup for this price point. Cordura is heavyweight and we'll sewn together. I decided to go with rice as a filler Took exactly 10 pounds to fill. Taking to the range next weekend.

Having built a shooting bench, I was looking for an alternative to some large and often pricey shooting rests, primarily for rifles and shotguns. I bought this bag set, thinking I would just fill them with sand. Reading the various reviews and how people address the 'fill problem', I settled on ground walnut shells. I could have saved $4.00 if I had bought the Zilla walnut shells on Amazon but I was in a hurry so bought a 10 quart bag of the stuff (in the reptile area) of a local pet supply store , brought it home, snipped off a corner of the plastic bag and filled away. I have maybe one quarter of the bag left. Glad I did this in the garage because about three tablespoons of ground walnut shells got loose during the filling process but it all went smoothly. Another reason to fill outside is that there is a small amount of dust from this product but not a big deal, I probably only noticed because with the bag(s) on my work bench, my face was very close to this material as it poured into the bag(s). Now the shooting rest bags are ready to go and I think they are well constructed, and the velcro 'open it, close it, and fold it' fill arrangement works very well. I think the walnut shell fill is just about an ideal weight and density, I don't have concerns about rodent attacks, dust, or seepage, they are on a shelf in my 'gun stuff' closet here in the house (smell good too, almost a slight cedar scent). No idea what durability is going to be like long term but will find out soon, got a shotgun with a scope to be sighted and another with a red dot sight that needs zeroing.

Ok… There are just a few things you need to know before you purchase this item. I’ll give my full review following my bullet points. 1. The bags come empty. You must purchase your own filler. 2. Filling the smaller bag can be difficult depending on your choice of bead/bean/sand. 3. The bags are made of quality material. 4. It would be great if you could move the provided D clips to another part of the bag. They are not removable. Now for my review… I knew something was wrong when I received the package in the mail. The envelope it came in was very small and flat. To my disappointment, the bags were not prefilled. If you look closely in the items description, you can find where the seller says this. However, it is not in the bold, flashing red neon print that it should be. I read through multiple reviews and found someone that said they used aquarium gravel as filler. This is a logical choice being that substance is not organic and won’t rot like soy beans and unlike sand, is designed to be wet if they ever come into contact with water. The smaller of the two bags was difficult to fill. Despite the aquarium gravel being quite small, I still had to force them into the “legs” of the bag . This portion of the item is not completely open. Instead, there is a small hole on either side found on the inner portion of the main compartment. If you are using larger filler or filler that clumps together when pouring, you will probably have a similar result. The bags are made of what appears to be quality material. I have no real concerns regarding craftsmanship or quality control. I have already dropped them (accidentally) from a height greater than five feet and they did not shows signs of rupturing. There are two D clips that are attached to the larger of the two bags. It would be great if you could move them to another side of the bag. Unfortunately, they are sewn in place via a cordura attachment cannot be removed. Overall, I probably got exactly what I paid for. The bags are functional and of recommendable quality. Just be prepared to spend a few extra bucks on filler. If you go with aquarium gravel, this can be cheaply done. Cheers.

These bags are well constructed with a nice large filling tube with a velcro closure and it tucks away under a nice wide strap to hold it flat. They come unfilled and I wanted something that would have some weight to it yet be a smooth, non-organic and easy to shape when firing. After looking at the expensive filling materials on Amazon, I opted for hobby lobby, Marigold market plastic pellets they come in 1 lb bags are $3.99 and they are just the right fill material. The small (rear) bag took less than a 1 lb bag of plastic pellets. I put three pounds in the front rest bag but probably will put one more in it. I am looking forward to going out on the range and using these bags. The rear bag is quite unique in that it is wedge-shaped which will give you some more options for raising and lowering the bag and with these plastic pellets the squeezing technique should work quite well with it.

Bags are pretty good, got some sand and filled both up. They hold a lot more sand than I thought they would just looking at them and as a consequence heavier than what I initially expected as well. All to the good, you want it to sit steady on the table as you shoot. I was a little worried about the flap on the top that opens so you can put sand (or whatever) in, it only seals with Velcro. That actually worked well and you can fold the flap over and push it under a band there for that purpose and it keeps it shut just fine. The only thing I see that I think is going to be a problem is the bottom of the larger bag is made with a much thinner black material that looks to me like it will not hold up well to the weight of the sand. I think it will wear quickly and pull loose at the seams, time will tell for sure though.

This item was purchased as a back up set, and is not my primary set, but as the old saying goes.... two is one, and one is none. This item seems to be well made, my main issue is with the rear bag, and I have used several types and brands. I had to open the holes in the "rabbit ear" section of bag to get more fill into that section as to make it a little firmer, and that helped some. The rear bags top surface is at at a 35 - 40 degree angle, while the average angle vs horizontal plane on the majority of my rifle stocks are approximately 12 degrees. What does this mean? It means the rifle stock makes contact about 3/4" with the front of the rear bag causing instability. When firmly shouldering the rifle and seating it forward in the correct shooting position, it sometimes cause the bag to "roll" forward causing the point of aim to change significantly, resulting in multiple adjustments to get the bag to hold properly. Please understand, I am not bashing the seller or the manufacturer, as several manufacturers are doing the exact same thing. If you do a lot of shooting and testing from a bench, or if you're new to the sport and plan to buy an economical first set, take the time and do a little looking before buying any bag(s). DR

Product received the next day. Filled bags with rice. Looks good and sturdy. Other reviews indicate they received 2 sets of bags, ( 2 front and 2 rear bags), as in photos. I received only 1 set.
