Overall good quality 440 stainless steel, feels solid, paracord over the handle could be wrapped tighter, the ground on my edge was angled to the left and not very sharp, serrations are thick enough to not worry about them breaking, but again needs sharpening, good weight and balance however.

This sword came exactly as described. It's strong, clean, sharp, and in great condition. The nylon rope around the handle is nice and tight; it doesn't move around in my hands. It fits nicely into the sheath, and there is a security strap that velcros around the handle. While this is a great sword, it's not very practical for use. It's definitely a show piece. My only complaint is the tip protector broke during shipping. I contacted the seller for another but they said the tip protectors are not sold separately, they just put one on to protect the sword during shipping, which is fine because it certainly did its' job. However, I'm not going to put the sword in the sheath until I find a proper tip protector because I feel that the tip will poke through the sheath creating a hole. All in all, great sword for the money.

I ordered this product with almost zero expectations, so I wasn't disappointed with it. I got here in a timely manner and the sword was all right. I got it as filler for my table at the flea market. I needed some lower end stuff that looked cool for impulse purchasers. It seems sturdy, and the blade was oiled so that was good. there were no nicks or anything like that. It was not very sharp, but that could be fixed with some patience and a sharpener. the sheath for the blade stinks though. when the package got here the tip of the blade had ripped through the sheath and the box. (The postman was quick to point this out) The wrap around the handle looks cool, but I went ahead and removed it and rewrapped it with some 550 paracord. This added some color and looked a bit better while adding a bit of useful cordage to it. It seemed to do the trick. I turned around the very next weekend and sold it for a bit of a profit. All in all its not my cup of tea as it really serves no real life purpose for me, but the late teens, early twenties crowd eat it up. I think I will order a couple more and do the same with them. I would recommend taking some plastic from a milk jug and folding it in half and placing it in the bottom of the sheath so the tip doesn't poke through and stab someone in the leg or back.

There is an old saying, "let the buyer beware", and this blade fits that description well. I know what you might be thinking, "Wow! a freaking NINJA sword for $15?!? Sign me up for one of those bad boys!" But stop and think... "A NINJA sword... For $15... Hmm... Something might be fishy." BudK knives are pretty decent quality for the price, typically, but this line is ill conceived with a flimsy blade that is easily bent and a sheath no tougher in make than the shirt on your back. It is sharp, but if you were looking for cutting power you would be better served with something more practical, like, say, a box cutter or a razor knife. Furthermore, though the package was received at precisely the time scheduled, the inner packaging was NOT professional quality. What I mean by that is that this knife looks like it was removed from the factory packaging before being placed in the Amazon.com shipping box, and then shoved back in without any concern at all for how it looked. The tape holding it together on the ripped-open end looked like it had been wrapped several times with tape to ham-handedly conceal the shoddy patch job. Finally, the blade of the sword actually arrived right out of the box with the bent tip of the sword jutting out of the side of the sheath. About an inch down from the point the sword was bent at a 45 degree angle and yet had been pushed into the sheath the rest of the way, slicing into it. A $2 machete out of the gardening section of your local hardware store would have more of a chance standing up to the kind of abuse an actual sword would experience. If you were to duel a person wielding a machete, theirs would chop your Secret Agent Tactical Ninja Sword in half and remain intact. As far as it's intimidation factor for "home protection", I am pretty sure the burglar of your home or the jacker of your car would get a hardy chuckle before shooting you in the face as you scramble to whip this out of the safety snap of its sheath and then slice your fingers off getting into a ready position. The reason they call it "dangerous" and "tactical" is that you are in danger the moment you touch it, and you would have to be capable of strategic strikes of ninja-level skill to not shatter it on a hard bit of wood or tough leather, much less metal or plastic of any kind. There is a reason why real blades are $2000. This product would not even make a good show piece.

For the price its a pretty damned good machete. Some may complain "It's dull" or "The sheath sucks". Well certainly one did not buy this for the sheath. The blade does what you need it too. It cuts with enough force. If one finds themselves not cutting cardboard with it one may need to hit harder. sharpening a blade isn't hard either is it? Admittedly the handle bugs me somewhat. Consider replacing the cord wrapped handle with some duck tape. Be a tighter to the metal and won't come loose so much. After minimal use I found myself trying to tuck the cord back together which is rather vexating. Also, its light weight. The weight that is present is presented at a point of impact though so as to assist the cutting power of the blade (Just like a machete). If a task is needed to cut something to ribbons its also easy to strike little closer and use the serrated blade. Its got it's flaws, but for about 20$, it's hard to beat. Production cost for this is probably upwards of 50% so the company isn't making a lot of money off this product. Just a decent product.
