Hormel Compleats Meatloaf with Potatoes & Gravy, 9-Ounce Microwavable Bowls (Pack of 6)

Hormel Compleats have their place in my life. I dont rely on these for regular use, but boy do they come in handy for a quick light meal as is, or for use in emergency situations. Basically a meal, ready to eat. Eat it cold or heat it up. Of course heated up is preferred. I recommend trying different ones out. I like the Turkey and dressing one the most, but the meatloaf and mashed potatoes is pretty good. "Good" is a funny descriptor here. We're not talking gourmet. It is shelf stable food. So it is good as far as all that goes. Also, not big portions. If you eat like a bird, this may be enough for you. If were eating it as a dinner, I would need a whole lot more. So plan on having sides with it add volume. Times I eat it as is is when dinner is a ways off, and I hadnt really eaten much during the day. I want something.. but I dont want snack food. This gives me that real food vibe, and doesnt take time or effort to prepare. Keep expectations low and you may find these to be rather delightful. I dont buy them all, and I dont necessarily like them all. But I have a few that I tend to crave, this being one of them. They have A LOT to choose from, in this listing and other listings. So as I wrote earlier, just give different ones a try as you may really dislike some and find that there are a few you really like.

This and the Turkey COMPLEATS are our family’s favorite and the only ones we buy. We add green beans or peas to complete the meal. I wash the salt out of the vegetables because the main has enough salt for both :). We stock these up as long as they stay valued priced. We “prep” these in our pantry taking the oldest out first and rotating. Recommend as both an additional meal choice and as a prepper option. Would be nice if they decreased the sodium but then might be less shelf stable. For people saying this isn’t as good as home made - well. Of course not. But they are surprisingly good and we have been buying this one for years!

I was super afraid to order these and the beef roast after reading all the horrible reviews. especially when there were so many reviews that said they paid soo much for 1 pack. I thank whoever said that because there are a few listings that are deceiving. so watch when they show what's in your cart. I found 2 quantities when I only ordered 1 on several items. and on these complete meals, I also found they put in my order 1pck. instead of 6 for 11.88 Aside from that, I have to say the meatloaf is great. it's thick meat, not just puffed-up bread crumbs. it's a good size amount. there is plenty of gravy to last through the meal. the only neg, to me, is the mashed potatoes. they to me are typically instant and AWFUL. BUT---THAT'S JUST ME. I CAN'T STAND INSTANT POTATOES. I WISH THEY WOULD JUST PUT 30R 4 PIECES OF SLICED POTATOES IN THERE AND SOME PEAS. AND WOW THIS WOULD BE FINE. I KNOW , IT DOESN'T HAVE THE FLAVOR OF HOMEMADE BUT THE PRICE IS GREAT AND WELL WORTH IT.I AM ORDERING TWO MORE 6PACK RIGHT NOW. SIDE NOTE, I SEE THEY DO RUN OUT OF THIS MEATLOAF A LOT. SO YOU MAY HAVE TO WAIT AND WATCH.HOPE THIS HELPS.

Most importantly these do NOT have to be frozen nor refrigerated so you can even keep them in the box in your garage so they don't fill up your refrigerator nor freezer at all! And they taste amazing!

The meat was pretty good but was way too spicy. The potatoes were not creamy enough. If I could make a recommendation Hormel, I would include roasted potatoes and carrots with your meatloaf meal. Nevertheless, the meal is tasty, filling, and nourishing, and perfect for buying in bulk. It is excellent for a ready to eat meal option that doesn't need to be refrigerated. If you buy these in bulk and control how much you eat, I promise you, you most likely will eat like a king for weeks if not months. This is also great in these hard times to avoid the hassle of going to the grocery store. And buying these in bulk is a lot cheaper as well! These are full protein meals with a side and is a great way to start any night. Perfect for work, school, camping, hotels, and so much more! I am Jewish, but I can't afford kosher meat and have no access to kosher meat. As the saying goes, the body is a temple. I personally don't believe it would be treating my body as a temple if I don't eat any meat. Mental illness has been directly associated with people who don't eat meat. So, as a Jew without a lot of money, I am choosing to get these meals. And I am very satisfied! For The Sabbath, it is a great way to start Friday Night and have a complete meal, given that I am in a lonely, stressful situation. If you are Jewish and can afford to keep kosher, you should and you shouldn't get this, but if you are a Jew like me with a very little amount of money, or anyone who is limited with money, and you want easy, ready to eat meals that are nourishing and that you can SURVIVE off of, these meals are perfect and will fill you and make you happy. If you have barely any money and are stressed, try these meals! You won't be disappointed and will be happy you did. A great way to change the mood of the night and to nourish your soul.
