I still can't accept that I left my GoPro 7 behind and it is gone forever. It was my favorite and used it for everything, so it is a shocker that it doesn't readily turn up when looking for it. It doesn't, and there is that constant reminder in the back of my head that I just might have left it behind. No doubt, long after this world self-destructs, some Ape will pick it off a rock, probably right where I left it. So I had to find a new camera and newer models were already being produced, but a newer GoPro meant I would need to stock up on the newer style batteries and a new set of filters since everything for the Hero 7 was now outdated. It also meant if I wanted to replace my Hero 7, that it was now only available in a bundle of items, most of which I already had five times over, and at a price over $600. Nonsense! So I waited and finally saw an ad for a new Hero 7 at the same price when it was new. No unwanted extras included, and I bought it and am now once again using my Hero 7 just like before with complete success. I don't know why some people say the Hero 7 doesn't work for them. Mine have always worked perfectly and are very reliable, and even records a better video. New buyers should probably go for the latest model because every new model receives some sort of improvement. Just don't leave it behind someplace. If you are real lucky, then you might even find one that somebody accidently forgot about and left behind.

Good product, meets all expectations.

It is a good camera so far. It heats up really fast on the dashboard of a car. Have not been able to use every feature of the camera yet but it great pictures and great videos. Very high quality and the voice active feature work well. Will update the review after I have used it more and learned more about the product So I'm updating this review. This product is still meeting all of my expectation. It take amazing videos and amazing photos, 1080p quality is outstanding and the 4k quality is even better and the photos are crystal clear. The one bad thing that I see with the camera is that it battery the battery kind of fast. So I would recommend buying an extra battery and a charging pack.

Brief: when GPS signal is lost GoPro 7 black keeps recording gradually increasing speed, can get beyond 500 mph even when not moving, possibly pass speed speed of light if wait longer... Details: I use GoPro to record my windsurfing sessions while it is attached to the sail mast, boom, or my head. After losing my Gopro Black 5 I bought 7, as it was almost the same price and had more video modes. Indeed, the image stabilization and some extra video modes are great, but, to my disappointment, GPS has a serious glitch - if camera falls under water it records continuously increasing speed, usually my windsurfing speeds are not exceeding 30 mph but once under water speed gradually rises to 100-500 mph and possibly more. I guess GPS loses signal, but instead of recording zeroes or just keeping the last known speed it keeps increasing speed, so I guess it will do that also in other conditions when GPS signal is lost (forests, buildings etc.). Very inconvenient as speed graph shows just these enormous peaks and everywhere else it is almost "zero"... GoPro 5 did not have that glitch, if you care about GPS - get GoPro black 5.

Out of the box the battery would not hold a charge. I went online and found this was an issue others had in the past as well. I went to Walmart and bought a brand new battery, charged it up and had no issues. Camera works fine. I called Gopro and explained the situation and they sent me a new battery to replace the faulty one. So now I have two batteries.
