Great printer
Bought for my 12 year old as birthday present and she has loved printing pictures from her phone. The pictures are small but she is delighted with them and with no power / batteries needed, it is simple to use but took a few goes to master it. Printer paper more expensive then I would have liked but it might come down in price in time

An old school camera NOT a printer! YOU WILL NEED PATIENCE & Practice
I think the name ”Kiipix Photo PRINTER" may not be the best to describe the product.. maybe "Kiipix Photo CAMERA" would be more accurate, since this is just a retro camera after all. YOU WILL NEED PATIENCE.. and a little bit of handiness when using KiiPix Photo, exactly because.. this is not like any other automatic instant camera now in commerce! This is a great product when you know how to use it or at least want to try it out.. at a very reasonable price also, to be honest. But the Kiipix Photo is MANUAL indeed, a little bit old school, so It's great for people who actually enjoy Polaroids, are photography aficionados and/or simply enjoy the process of trying out different picture effects and settings without getting frustrated by it. If this doesn't sound like you, then this is not for you my friend (- you may also skip my whole review!).You can expect the resolution of your Kiipix Photo prints to be ALMOST that of the originally captured in your device but just because what gets captured with the Kiipix Photo is a PREVIEW and not the full-sized HD/ULTRA 4K ETC image. Also, you can expect the colors to get darker from what they looked originally because..it's an OLD SCHOOL camera after all (- again..not really a printer!) which implies that the color/saturation/brightness of your printed Kiipix pics are directly impacted by the lightness of the room in which you use the Kiipix Photo camera (and if/how you covered the sides of the Kiipix Photo when using + how much you waited before revealing the films); your prints will also be influenced by the color/hue or "filter” of the Fuji film used to print the pictures, and by your picture's settings in terms of colors/brightness/saturation/contrast, etc when using with Kiipix Photo. What I mean is: for different results, you need to manually make them happen. You can influence and change the result colors of your printed pictures by changing saturation/hue/contrast and lights of your ORIGINAL PICTURES when they are in your original device BEFORE PRINTING. For example, I noticed I had more colorful and "real normal light-clear" results with pictures with:1) Crazy full-on saturation (especially on pictures with bland colors), little shadows (especially on faces), and fewer shadows/saturation/contrast on hair (if brown/black already) which become very dark losing its original color because of the saturation.2) After pressing "Shutter", I make sure to COVER both lateral sides of the Kiipix printer AND LEAVE my phone there for at least 2 MINUTES BEFORE developing the picture.

Not Good Quality Pictures nothing like advertized !
I purchased KilPix Portable Photo for my daughter for Christmas along with Instax Mini Film (that need to be inserted into the KilPix Portable Photo device in order for it to work. She only used the Christmas present on Sunday 29th December (yesterday) but was very disappointed with it – as were we. It is of very poor quality. The KilPix Portable Photo does not work as advertised – see attached 3 samples of the photo’s that were printed. We would like a refund for this purchase. We had to also insert a minamum of 10 films of the Instax Mini Film into the KilPix Portable Photo device so now these are also wasted given that the KilPix Portable Photo didn’t work.We would like a refund for these items. Can you please advise how we go about this.Looking forward to hearing from you.

Solved the 'black photos' dilemma!
Took a gamble buying this product given the complete mixed bag of reviews and so many comments saying it didn't work as all photos were printing black. After (a lot of) trouble shooting - realised it was because the majority of the time, the shutter wasn't actually opening and closing properly after clicking down, hence the photos were black. When I turned it upside down and placed my phone screen instead on the table and this little gadget upside down on top and clicked - I heard a completely different sound - the shutter actually opening and closing and the photos started printing properly after that. Given it a 4/5 because the photos aren't of the clearest resolution but, can't really expect high-res for the price!

Tips for better quality and what retailers not to buy paper from.
To get the results you need there’s a bit of trial and error here’s my tips I picked up that aren’t commonly said. You absolutely need more then a normal light for example I have a huge, white bright smart bulb and it wasn’t enough I used two lamps right next to it and the big light. Some pictures will be upside down if you don’t line the person on the white frame up to the picture this sounds simple but when you have off debriefed pictures just make sure you’ve got it right. The edges will always be a little dark as that’s where the white frame overs the camera my top for this would be a little photo editing, like zooming out of the picture giving it a thick black frame that will be cut off by the white template when it’s applied. This makes sure your hole picture is in the photo.DO NOT BUY THE PAPER FROM AMAZON!! Can’t stress this enough they come Brocken every time. Instead you can buy them from Argos click and collect or even delivery for the same exact price and get them even faster then prime if you collect.
