Spooky Visual Novel
I enjoyed this game so much! I felt the art and atmosphere were very creepy. I liked that there were different ways to solve the ghosts. The story was good and unfolded in an interesting way. The sections outside the Visual Novel parts where nice breaks in the dialogue and added a lot to the overall enjoyment of the game. I would recommend this to anyone who is a fan of Visual Novels or horror games. One downside about this game to me was the music. There's one particular piano riff that just repeats in certain sections of the game that I found a little grating. Not enough to make me not enjoy the game, but I did find myself growing tired of hearing it.

Hidden Gem
I am not new to interactive novels but rarely see any for the horror genre. I'm a big fan of the Cat Lady series and I'd say it's about on that level. This game actually creeped me out and the story kept me pushing past my fear. The jump scares are well placed and not ovedone. A well-paced game overall. The villain reveal was well played as well. The fact that your choices not only determine your fate but your teammates really ups the ante for the fear factor. The soundtrack and the game's various settings really do well at setting the tone and atmosphere. Sometimes all you can hear is your footsteps, the wind, or the occasional bird - it is unsettling. Occult horror done right. Worth getting the good ending to play the DLC.It has a few weaknesses such as the dialogue box needing to pop up every time you progress. I also wish you could save more often. Even though the fanservice parts of the game are sparse, they are out of place. I don't see any other need to have them other than to appease a certain pervy demographic. It's just not the right kind of game for that and sticks out like a sore thumb. There are also some chapters that are too short in my opinion. My verdict? A great game even with the weakness and definitely one I'll play more than once.

I love this game
I love this game. In fact after playing the first two chapters I ordered the collector's edition and part 2.I wish the chapters were longer. They're great, but the stories could have been fleshed out more. My only other complaint is the creature bosses. There's wonderful creepy artwork. Some of it really beautiful. Then there's the bosses you fight. In story they're cool and unsettling. During the fight they look like jokes.Still, overall a really great game.

Danganronpa brought me here
Danganronpa brought me here. Honestly this game is dark and very interesting. Not a scary game but it does contain some jump scares. It’s not your usual visual novel but your character basically Is a spirit detective. You start off the game going to a manor where you meet a human doll who tries to explain the reason for your mark and how you can destroy it.Now most game reviews I looked at didn’t have much to say on the game but I must say there are a lot of elements making it interesting. You team up with a partner and read the spirit file of each ghost to figure out items on how to beat them. And that’s not all. By actually fighting with a partner, it’s a good chance that a favorite of yours who helped you can die by the ghost. So pick who can help you and who you really don’t need wisely because there will be a sacrifice. The storyline is really engaging along with the music and jump scares. While the game allows freedom to move, it doesn’t give you the freedom to entirely move making things real good for players who get freak from horror games. You can move but you’re limited to a picture book format. So you can play this even if you don’t like horror. The mystery part mixed with horror puts it in a setting of darkness as your character can only go out at night and must be indoors and away from the sun or else his mark will consume him. And while other people come to the mansion getting help for finding the spirits/demons giving them their mark, you inevitably wait to see when your character will have his mark removed. His mark might lead to something darker.Very unique game digital or limited edition. With the limited version, you get a book, death mark tatoo, and the death mark soundtrack.

Game is faulty, boring and NOT scary
Technically, I got mine from PSN, but I was so disgusted with it I came here to share my experience. Basically, I was stuck in a school in chapter 1 for hours. After consulting an online guide, I realized the game was buggy and the items I needed were not there while the ones I had would not work. Thank goodness I got it on sale!
