Got us through the first night
I got my puppy yesterday and this is, so far, the best thing I purchased. He wrestles with it and sleeps against it. He slept through the night which I totally did not expect. The toy is bigger than he is and that make the whole thing just that much cuter. I have a feeling I will be going through a lot of batteries but I think it's completely worth it. The toy is soft and so far has taken the little guys teeth with no tearing. I'll update further if he manages to rip it open or anything Update: No tearing and I did put in a hand warmer overnight to see how that worked. It made the toy warm enough to the touch to be comforting but not too hot. I'm not sure my puppy noticed or cared and I haven't done it since. He loves to wrestle with this and sleeps next to or on top of it whenever it's nap time. Update May 2017 -- He loves this toy, he still sleeps with it every night. It hasn't had a heartbeat or the warmer in years but it is still his go to sleep toy. It goes with him to boarding and on every trip. He still has the original stuffy though it doesn't have ears or eyes anymore. I had to wash it once due to an explosion in the crate, with a lot of bleach, and it fared very well. He wasn't sure about it for a few days as it didn't smell right anymore, but he soon fell in love with it again. Im very impressed with the quality as this has lasted three plus years of pretty constant mauling. Five Year Update: He still loves this toy. I keep considering getting a new one and swapping them out but it's held up surprisingly well. Seven Year Update: My neighbors got a puppy and she just cried the whole first night in the crate. I got her one of these and the difference is amazing. She hears the heartbeat and goes directly into her crate! I broke down and got my dog another one, even though this is a big pricey for the size of toy. He is in love. He has spent hours cuddling with this in the past two days. I put up a pic of the old one vs new one. I finally washed the old one and it's better, but he LOVES the new one. I was being sentimental as it was the toy I had with me when I picked him up from the breeder, but apparently he doesn't care. I will be getting more, possibly yearly, as he destroys them.

Sleep Saver
I bought the Snuggle Puppy Heartbeat Dog for my new puppy, and it made an incredible difference from the very first night. As soon as I introduced it in his crate, he immediately stopped crying and settled down to sleep. It truly has been a sleep saver for both my puppy and myself. I've had the Snuggle Puppy for three days now, and it continues to help him feel calm and comfortable at bedtime. I'm so glad I decided to purchase it, and I would highly recommend it to anyone bringing home a new puppy.

Good quality, price and fast shipping
What a relief this puppy has been. Princess Fiona is sleep all through the night (until the cat bugs her). Before I got it I was up and down all night. I have it on the mode so when she moves it comes on. Personally, I recommand this product for new puppies. She's so cute when she cuddles it.

Great for pups!
Our puppy loves it! I was really skeptical but a friend told me about this and I think it has helped! Our new puppy was howling in her crate overnight and this helped to soothe her. Love that there are different varieties and it says it’s machine washable! I work from home so I can monitor her and make sure she’s not tearing it apart. For older pups this could be a safety hazard, but it’s been great for our 8-week old puppy. The Velcro that holds the heartbeat device is super strong. I’d give it 5 stars but so far the motion sensor technology hasn’t seemed to work. It shuts off after 8 hours and is supposed to reactive with motion but I tried shaking it and it didn’t turn on. Not a big deal, but I just have to take take out the heartbeat device and turn it back on every so often. For the cost it would be nice if this feature worked.

Great product
This is very effective for crate training. Finn is sleeping 7 hours straight and we have not had him a week yet.

Puppy loves it!
Our lab puppy did not take to it for a week or so but boy does she love it now! I stopped using the heart beat after a few months and she still takes it everywhere. She uses it like a pillow. The Velcro on the bottom has started to rip after about six months since she does pull on it. Well worth the money though. Will buy another if need be.

Helps Tremendously!
If you have a scared new puppy, get this doll. I described my experience before and after the doll and notes for first and continuing use at the end... My 8 week old yorkie baby was having panicked screaming fits at night. I would have just let her cry it out but it was genuine panic for 30 minutes at a time and I don't want her to develop other anxieties later. Night before last, I ended up on the couch next to her all night soothing her back to sleep every thirty minutes until daybreak. It was exhausting. Over the course of that night, I did some research on training puppies to self-soothe at night and came across this product. THANKFULLY Amazon had same-day delivery so, within 6 hours I had it. It came with batteries and one heating pad so it was totally ready to go upon opening. I set it in her bed and petted her while she was next to it. It took about 15 minutes for her to warm up to it. She first laid on the edge of the bed, then face-to-face with it, then next to it, then across it. She took all of her naps with it yesterday. I kept the TV going and made sure I was talking in the room so she knew I was still there. Last night I ended up on the couch next to her again but she only needed soothing every three hours this time and her fits weren't TOTAL panic, just a little fear, so I'm convinced that it helped. The pictures are of her today for her first nap of the day. She still wanted to know I was nearby, but I petted her until she was calm enough to snuggle up by her "friend" and zonk out. She's happily napping as I write this review. NOTES: - The heating pad is supposed to only last 24 hours but, about 30 hours later there's still a little warmth in it. - I wasn't certain that the heating pad was supposed to go in the same pocket as the heartbeat machine but it was the only pocket on the doll, so I put them both in there, heartbeat first and heat closest to the surface and it didn't affect the heartbeat. 30 hours later, the heartbeat's still going strong. - The heat really stays in the belly of the doll, so I laid it on it's side to make it easier for her to snuggle close to the warmth. - The branded heating pad refills are a little pricey and I don't think the doll will have quite the same impact without the warmth, so I ordered the TonGas (spelling?) brand heating pads instead. They function the same, they're cheaper, you get 15 instead of like 8 and they advertise to last longer. So it's win-win-win-win lol. I'll update if they fall short. ***update: the TonGas heating pads fell short. They only stayed warm for about 10 hours. It gets our puppy through the night but I wouldn't recommend them if you need them for 24+ hour periods Good luck to you and your new fur-baby!

PUP MOMS PLEASE READ!!!!!!!!!!! (REAL RAW REVIEW)
I give this product an 3/5 stars this is my most UPDATED 2024 VERSION I got my new puppy June 14th she’s a maltipoo and I ordered this 2 days before she arrived but it came overnight so I would say I got this June 13th is when it arrived and I bought this because my mom was telling me how puppies will cry and cry through the night so I went on Amazon searching for something and I found this read all the reviews everybody loved this so I said why not buy this and see what the hype is so her first night home was HECTIC this is a REAL RAW REVIEW !! I put the heating pad and the little heartbeat inside of this stuffed animal and it didn’t help her at all she whined and cried through the night keeping me up FOR HOURS keep in mind this is the very first night home I even tried to switch the heartbeat around in the stuffed animal and eventually I ended up having to take the heartbeat out and place it on the cage it worked for a short period of time until she started crying and crying again I don’t know if this was because I waited to turn it on until nighttime I don’t know what it was but the first night was horrible and this thing didn’t do in hopes what I thought it would do so today is now June 17th the day I’m writing this review and puppy mamas it will mark 3 days of her being with me Saturday and Sunday she slept through the night no noise i did have the heartbeat on but I leave it on the outside and not inside I leave it on top of the stuffie and I’ve noticed her starting to cuddle up with the stuffie I just feel like I shouldn’t have to leave the heartbeat on the outside of the stuffie and I’m also crate training her in the process so she’s learning when she cries I won’t be taking her out until I wake up but so far so good only issue is me not being able to keep the heart inside the stuffie it’s very annoying and because she’s so teenie tiny she barely has teeth and is teething and it gets on the side where she is potty training but I give it 3 stars because I’ve seen her cuddle up with it like I said I don’t know if this is due to her actually liking the stuffie or her realizing she won’t get out the crate until morning time so she sleeps next to it for comfort but I am grateful that we have been able to sleep through the night peacefully on her second and third night with us that’s what I’m most grateful for because she’s her coat color is white and the stuffie is white they do blend in together 😂which is hard to tell if she’s in the cage when I wake up even though I know she is I would’ve gotten closer but I didn’t want to wake her my puppy was 7 weeks when I picked her up she just turned 8 weeks yesterday. Again puppy mommies I’m not sure if this is something you introduce to them when they first get home and not waiting until nighttime but I’ve started turning the heartbeat on 2 hours before her bedtime or 1 hour and a half and I’ve noticed changes helping to stay quiet through the night and again as I’ve said I wake up and she’s sleep next to it in the cage . This also NEVER came with an QR CODE to “get a free toy” like the other reviews were saying .. mine never came with one so that’s a lie .

Better Than 'Cry It Out': A Compassionate, Science-Based Tool and a faster route to Peaceful Sleep
The first night home is usually a chorus of whimpers, but with our latest puppy, the silence was almost absolute. All I could hear was a soft, rhythmic thump-thump-thump—a barely audible but palpably reassuring heartbeat that turned her crate from a lonely space into a safe haven ✨. I purchased the Snuggle Puppy Original Heartbeat Toy for a toy breed puppy transitioning to our home. Welcoming a new family member is so much easier when everyone sleeps well! 💤 I am firmly against the "cry it out" method; it elevates cortisol levels and creates intense stress and hopelessness. Instead, I believe in compassionate, fear-free training. By placing a small crate in our bedroom and using this puppy sleep aid, our puppy didn't cry or whine once. In fact, this was a much quicker route to a full night's sleep than "cry it out" could ever be 😴. I am pleased to say this puppy has since grown into an empathic, confident, and independent adult dog 🐕🦺. ✅ The Pros: • Faster results through comfort: Providing cuddles, familiar scents, and soothing sounds settles a puppy far more effectively than forced isolation. My puppy engaged with this toy immediately like a littermate, snuggling it in her pen for security 🧸. It was my pre-emptive strike against separation anxiety, and it worked! • Ideal for toy breeds: Being a toy breed, the Snuggle Puppy was actually bigger than she was initially! This seemed to provide even more comfort, as it felt like a large, warm sibling she could completely tuck herself against 🐶. • Stress reduction: The "real-feel" pulsing heartbeat mimics the sensation of sleeping in a pack, naturally lowering stress and preventing the panic of a new environment 💓. • Quality & build: The plush is incredibly soft, almost like a high-quality fleece. The secure, low-profile velcro compartment is well-hidden and, crucially, does not snag on bedding or blankets, which is a common issue with cheaper dog heartbeat toys. • Customisable Comfort: A herbal pouch could be placed in the heartbeat/heating pack compartment to further soothe the senses 🌿🌼🪻. • Easy Maintenance: Once you remove the internal components, the plush is fully machine washable—essential for any puppy product. ⚠️ The Critical "Heads-Up" (Important for some dogs!): • Know Your Puppy's Style: While my toy breed pup used this as a bed-mate 🐾, I had a previous puppy who ripped his Snuggle Puppy apart in minutes. If you have a "shredder," you must supervise them closely. It's a behavioural aid and a comfort item, not an indestructible chew toy 🚫. • Battery & Heat Pack Logistics: I used standard alkaline AAA batteries, and on the 8-hour setting, they lasted about two weeks. I'd highly recommend rechargeable AAA batteries for ongoing use. It comes with one disposable heat pack; for long-term use, consider a reusable pet heating pad. • Subtle Pulse: In a quiet bedroom, you can hear a faint rhythmic "thump" 💓. It is actually quite soothing for humans too, but worth noting if you are an incredibly light sleeper. ✨ Tip for Success To maximise the calming effect, rub the plush against your own skin or wrap it in a T-shirt you've worn 👕. Combining your scent with the heartbeat adds comforting pheromones to create a powerful sense of security that prevents distress before it starts. 🏆 Final Verdict The Snuggle Puppy Original Heartbeat Toy is an invaluable tool for any owner committed to positive, fear-free puppy raising in 2025. It bridges the gap between the mother dog and a new home perfectly. It is a worthwhile investment in your puppy’s emotional well-being and your own peace of mind!
