I find that this works well with the NEEWER cage and case, and the alignment with the 17 mm mount is solid. The optical quality is good for a teleconverter at this range, and the 3X boost gives noticeably more reach when paired with a 5X phone telephoto lens. The multicoated glass reduces reflections, and the image stays sharp when the phone is stabilized. Using a tripod definitely helps at this zoom level, and the lens threads on securely without wobble. For long‑distance shots with the Neewer setup, this teleconverter has been a useful addition. I am giving it 5 stars.

I am an engineer, not a professional photographer. My wife is a full-time science teacher, member of Minnesota dragonfly society, and part-time birder. We camp, hike, and travel. Our Cannon Rebel with accessories took wonderful pictures, but we gave it to our daughter who is an outdoor naturalist; because of the Rebel's size and weight, we rarely used it. Usually, our iPhones are mostly good enough until distance prevents identification. Faced with an upcoming trip to the mountains and jungles of Central America, I researched add-on telephoto lens. None had raving reviews, and all recommended tripods to deal with the bulky lens weight. This smaller lens and sturdy cage provided an alternative. Wow, I'm impressed. The cage is solid and protects the camera extremely well without hindering convenience of use. The lens clips to a belt loop, and screws on in 20s, and is light enough to manipulate the camera without a bulky tripod. It auto-focuses and takes out point and shoot iPhone up a level. I plan to look into some other accessories as well, like filters.

Does not work with any of the Neewer Iphone 17 pro max lenses case. It cannot screw in tightly and the case only supports the other bottom and right side camera. The top left where you would do most of your recordings does not support the lenses to be screwed in by hand to tighten. See photos.0

picked up the NEEWER 3X Teleconverter for my phone’s telephoto lens and it has taken my mobile photography to another level. This is not a simple clip-on… it’s a serious 360mm equivalent optic with 12 elements in 6 groups that gives you impressive reach for wildlife, sports, moon shots, or distant details. The build quality feels solid with a 17mm thread that attaches securely to compatible phone telephoto lenses. It works with iPhone, Android, Samsung, Xiaomi and other devices when paired with a phone cage or case. What surprised me most is how sharp the images can be once you dial everything in. A couple important notes for best results… this teleconverter will not work with your phone’s native camera app. You’ll need to download a third-party camera app that lets you manually control lens selection so you can properly engage the telephoto lens. Also, because of the extreme telephoto magnification, this thing absolutely must be tripod mounted. Handheld shots show noticeable shake… once it’s locked down on a tripod the results are dramatically better and much sharper. When used properly on a stable tripod with the right camera app, the extra reach is fantastic. Colors stay vibrant and details pop that you simply can’t capture with a standard phone lens. It has become my go-to setup for situations where I need serious zoom without carrying a bulky camera. If you’re serious about phone photography and already have a telephoto lens setup, this NEEWER 3X teleconverter is a worthwhile addition that delivers real optical performance.

Hace unos años, era impensable trabajar con lentes diseñados para teléfonos móviles. La calidad era terrible. Pero eso cambió. Gracias al sistema de fundas que se ha desarrollado, lentes como este de Neewer ofrecen una calidad más que adecuada para proyectos serios. Ojo: para usarlo necesitarás una funda o jaula compatible, ya que no viene incluida. Recomiendo usar el lente con la jaula Neewer Cage [2ª generación]. La construcción es muy buena. De hecho, ya sobrevivió a su primera caída (y espero que también sea la última). Para obtener la mejor calidad, debes acoplarlo al lente principal (1x). El zoom intermedio (2x), como el que ofrece mi iPhone 15 Pro Max, es solo un recorte digital; no se trata de un zoom óptico real. También puede usarse con la cámara gran angular (0.5x), aunque esta no alcanza la calidad del lente principal. Y ahí está justamente la ventaja de este tipo de lentes: ofrecen zoom óptico real, en este caso de 1.7x, lo que además se traduce en un desenfoque natural si te gusta la fotografía de retrato, muy distinto al efecto artificial que generan los teléfonos. Eso sí, en video hay que tener precaución al grabar escenas en movimiento. La estabilización se pierde significativamente. Si ese es tu caso, será necesario usar un gimbal para mantener la imagen estable, ya que no tendrás la misma estabilización que ofrecen los teléfonos de gama alta. Para finalizar, el único punto débil no está en el lente, sino en su estuche: el cierre es de baja calidad, y si el lente no está bien acomodado, el estuche se abre y daña fácilmente, como ya me sucedió. Pero no le voy a quitar una estrella por ese detalle; en últimas, es el lente lo que interesa. Aunque tendrán que mejorar el estuche en nuevas versiones o nuevos productos que saquen al mercado.

I like this telephoto phone camera lens and it does a good job if you need to zoom in on a particular shot over and above what your standard phone camera is capable of. However, it does add some weight which makes it a little more difficult to keep a steady hand when trying to get that perfect shot. But perhaps more importantly you'll need to buy another accessory from Neewer to make it work...at least I did and I have an iPhone 12. It's Neewer part number PA007 and it's called a Universal Phone Clamp for 17mm Threaded Lens . It cost me $15 and I purchased it directly from Neewer. Once you receive the clamp the lens screws right into it and you can then clamp the lens over your phone lens to take your pictures. It would have been nice if the Seller had included this item with the lens which is why I removed a star. The lens itself is solid and well made, and definitely a quality product. The distortion is minimal around the edges of the lens but overall you can get really good pictures. This lens really does make a difference, but it is heavy and know you'll need to purchase the additional accessory I mentioned above.

This is wonderful for my S24 ultra

I gave this three stars since I can’t really review this because I sent it back. I was looking for something that would help me take some long range pictures when I went to Alaska but this lens set was too heavy to add to my already-heavy suitcase. It fit my phone just fine and the price was good, it just didn’t fit the weight limits I needed.

LS-66です。iPhone12pro maxの使用で写真は2.3倍ズームで約150m先を捉えています。挟み込むタイプの17mmのアダプターを付けて使用しています。以前1800円程度の安いズームレンズを買いましたが、この価格レンジじゃないとまともに撮れたもんじゃありません。これ以上となると、やっぱり携帯では限界でミラーレスカメラを買わざるを得ません。因みにまぁまぁ大きいので、重量増は覚悟して使ってください。

I have a Samsung S25 Ultra and have tried a good selection of Neewer Lenses and been disappointed with the limited functionality and the amount of work required to achieve but the 65mm is utterly perfect. Used in "Portrait" mode for all occasions, even landscapes and wildlife it engages the focus point locks brilliantly, popping the subject and creating very pleasing blur for background and staggered foreground blur that invites the eye smoothly. Absolute Godsend for a disabled lad on his mobility scooter trying to control a dog at the same time. It has replaced my cumbersome DSLR and in my opinion provides better results while being markedly cheaper than its contemporaries. Bravo Neewer.

Love this 65mm lens! It’s great bang for your buck. First lens I’ve bought for my iPhone for filming short films and love being able to get a shallow depth of field (the “cinematic” setting on the iPhone does not always look good). I have Canon lenses for my DSLR camera and this lens is obviously not as good as them but they are 4x the price — This lens is great value for the price. One crucial thing to note is that you really need a specific phone case with a built-in 17mm threaded mount on the back, allowing you to screw on this lens, as it’s heavy and the Neewer universally clamp is not very good — it gets bumped easily and barely fits into some rigs as it sticks out so much. If the lens is not lined up properly you see a black vignette and focus is not sharp. I’d recommend this lens especially if you are shooting mid-close ups of people as you get that nice separation from the background (blurred background) and faces look nice and sharp!
