Q: Some have suggested using a detail spray with clay mitt prior to applying the Ceramic Coating, wont the detail spray leave behind a coating ?

You can use a clay mitt and lubricate the surface with detailing spray or a dedicated lubricant for claybar. Once you are done, I'd polish any swirls out in your clearcoat, if you have them. THEN use a 30% IPA 70% distilled water and a soft cloth and remove any residue from the surface that you laid down. It is advisable to watch professional detailer videos on a place like youtube to get some education. You can do this coat! But get some education on this first.

You really dont want to coat raw aluminum. Its so porous and if you do coat them they will oxidize under the coating

Not sure I put it over my trucks camera it didn't cause any noticeable problems. I will say this if it is to much in one area and it dries it leave a noticeable pattern. It dries extremely fast. I won't use the product again because it dries to fast to even be reasonable too apply.
