can i stick on bottom of my laptop so it won't slide off a tilted metal lapdesk onto my lap?

This is exactly why I bought these little 1" pads, and it works BEAUTIFULLY. I stuck 4 pads on the bottom (not obscuring any air intake) and I can tilt my lap desk 45 degrees before the laptop even starts to budge. My laptop desk is kind of a smooth, pebbled plastic surface and my laptop has two rubber strips along the bottom, but it still slid down if the desk was even slightly inclined. Not anymore! These are GREAT for this purpose!

If I put my sofa on the edge of a flat wooden roof, would these grippers prevent sofa from going over edge when sitting on sofa?

These are not made to keep you from falling to your death. Bolt that sofa down. Or better yet, just don’t put a sofa on a roof that isn’t already a deck with safety rails.

Can these be used on the claws of grabbers/reachers? Mine are plastic and heavy items slip right through.

I would say yes. I used them on salon hood dryers. I had to cut one into 3 pieces because the feet of dryer was small. They worked wonderfully.
