Roborock Exceeds Expectations!
I do not write many reviews but I am compelled to with my experience. We are coming from the original iRobot 6xx series robot vacuums: loud, hair gets tangled and requires lots of clean-up, frequent emptying of dust bin, etc. I went with the Roborock based on the Vacuum Wars YouTube channel and I did expect a lot for what I paid but I had no clue it would perform so well. I have had the unit since Christmas and have been running it hard. Let me also say that our house is 100% hardwoods/tile except for some occassional area rugs. I have not tested the vacuum on carpet or anything thick whatsoever but based on the rest of my experience, I would expect nothing but good things. QUIET! The unit is super quiet, if you have ever been turned-off due to the noise, its night and day. We clean during the night and have never heard it, you can run it while you are there and would hardly know its on. HAIR DOES NOT GET TRAPPED! I have 3 females, a golden retriever, and 2 cats. The rubber roller bar is incredible. After many cleanings I hardly have to get hair out, and if I do its on the edges, take out the ends and out slides the hair. No more scissors to cut it out and it just simply doesn't exist on the rollerbar, I don't know how it works so well. VACUUM Suction is superb, hardly anything missing off our dark hardwoods, and I would notice. The dock has a super powerful suction to transfer from the robot to the dust bin and was hardly half full after a month. Again, the lack of needing to dig things out of the vacuuum and the fact the floors look like the cleaners came is just a testament to how well this thing saves time and is worth the investment. MOP This was the area I was most skeptical about, mainly due to design and thinking that there's no way it would actually be able to clean very well. Well, it does. My golden comes in and leaves muddy paw prints everywhere, spills and spots in the kitchen, the dust build-up in the bathroom corners and whatnot, the thing just performs. My mother thought the cleaners had come when she came to dog sit for us. Sometimes I can see maybe a film or streaks but its really a non-issue, and only in the perfect light when I look from an angle. The solution is a 300:1 ratio and mixes with the water so its light on hardwoods and lasts a long time. The clean water bin both is used for mopping and cleaning the mop. You will need to fill it up about once every week or 2 based on how much you mop. For me, its 2x a week (Tuesday and Friday mornings) and lasts a little over a week maybe close to 2 weeks and that is for 1500-1600sf downstairs. The mop pre-wets itself before it starts and cleans itself on a cadence in back at the dock. The place where it cleans from time to time needs to be cleaned with a rag, maybe every few weeks, not a big deal at all. BATTERY LIFE The thing could vacuum or mop my entire house on a single charge I bet. Most of the time after a 1-2 hour run it still has 40-50% battery left. I have yet to have a circumstance when it would go back to charge and resume but have all the confidence that it would. NAVIGATION The unit chooses efficient paths, gets to where its going and comes back, doesn't get lost, ever. There are 2 ways to get to some spots and it is smart to know if its a shorter route by taking one (around our living/dining room) or cutting through our master closet to get back to laundry quicker. If the door is closed, no problem, it just turns around and goes the other way. AVOIDANCE Extremely complex camera and LIDAR system, maps out the house and avoids objects in real-time. Has hardly ever sucked anything up that hung it up, maybe once, it does a great job of avoidance. There are settings for this that will avoid as many bumps and I guess damage to baseboards and such, I think the only thing I would say is I'd like to see it attempt to push through a bedskirt or table cloth before it just turns around and avoids the area entirely, but it does instill tons of confidence that it will make every effort to clean what it can without getting into trouble. I have noticed that when I move our chairs around in the den it will try several passes to find ways to clean where I moved them, but will eventually give up, very smart. APP/TECH I am in software development by trade and the level of customization and configuration is quite frankly mind-blowing. Complex schedules based on pre-set mop/vac settings, quick cleans, slicing rooms any way you want, intensity of mop and vacuum combinations, mop head clean interval, clean with the grain of the hardwoods, there is not a single setting missing from this app. It works, it works well, I am just so happy with it. SUPPORT A Chinese company I never heard of, I was wondering how support would be. Well, on Christmas Day when I couldn't get it to pair to my phone to join my Wi-Fi, I called Customer Support, got someone on the phone, and they resolved my issue within 10 min. So, if that is any indication, I am super excited about the support if I ever were to need it in the future. I purchased the 3 year extended warranty from Amazon for $120, thought it would be worth it to see how long everything lasts. CONCLUSION I can't keep talking about this robot vacuum to friends and family. It works and performs so well I just know something has to go wrong, the thing will die or break or explode. But I pray that it does not and continues to deliver high marks in every area. I do not have any gripes and honestly, with how it makes my house look, and the $150/pop we were spending on a cleaner, this thing will pay for itself in less than a year. For us, it truly does seem to replace a mop and vacuum aside from maybe the quarterly deep cleanings. I cannot recommend the Roborock enough and just had to write the review. If you've never had a robot vacuum/mop before, prepare to be blown away. If you have and had bad experiences or lackluster performance, noise, maintenance, this will be an even bigger shock as to how truly automated everything is. Replacement costs are low in the solution and the bags, maybe a few mop heads you can remove and throw in the washer. Happy cleaning and I hope you have as good of an experience as me!

Good and bad
There are many things I love about this vacuum: it’s price, it’s mopping and vacuuming ability, the fact that it doesn’t bump into things very hard, it has a quiet cleaning setting, and I can turn it on using my phone Now the bad: Setting it up is a pain! You have to have a very specific type of wifi to be able to use the app on your phone and actually control the robots settings. If you don’t have the app you won’t be able to control the settings you can only turn it on manually and use spot cleaning and regular cleaning. The company is very responsive and helpful with the set up process since you will run into complications. You can only use the app if you are on the same wifi as the robot, so you can’t be away from home and turn the robot on. The robot is able to map your home, but you have no control over where it cleans and you cannot set areas off limits. The robot will go wherever it wants to go and will get itself stuck and destroy your rugs (see video). It does not have the ability to realize it is getting stuck and stop what it is doing. It will destroy itself and your rugs before stopping. I don’t know how well this robot would do on carpet as I have hard wood floors, but it cannot handle my shorter rugs. Will you get a better robot for the price? Probably not. If you have only hardwood or tile floors then this is a good robot, but not being able to set areas off-limits makes using it a chore as I have to move furniture and pick rugs off the floor before turning it on. UPDATE: Roborock has reached out to me (I told you their customer service was good) and has offered me a side brush that will make the robot less likely to have a problem with getting tangled in rugs. They are also sending me magnetic strips that I can place beneath my rugs that will prevent the robot from going onto the rugs. All for free. The customer service is really great and I will update when I receive the equipment to leave a review of how well it all works out :)

Awesome upgrade from the S9 and M6 machines.
I have owned an iRobot S9 and its side-kick the iRobot Brava Jet M6 for over 5 years. This Roborock Saros Z70 replaces them both and does MUCH BETTER work. I've only had it a few days so I don't know about reliability, but so far it has been working awesome. This is a BIG upgrade from the S9 and M6! The app is much easier to use than the iRobot app. The Z70 auto-scanned the rooms and had them mapped within minutes. No bumping into things to map, it just looked around. I then updated the map by dividing it into rooms and naming them so I can clean one at a time. Easy. After the first cleanings I tweaked the map to get the room dividers just right. It was so cool watching the Z70 find its way around without bumping into things or getting confused! Super cool that now I can send it in to clean an un-tidy room because it will see and work around random things on the floor instead of just trying to eat them and jam. I put a slipper in the way just to watch the little arm come out, pick it up, and put it away. Per Roborock it currently will only pick up a slipper, a sock, or a ball of paper but they say soon it will pick up more kinds of things. Cool to watch its little mop swing out to wipe exactly up to the edges and swing up out of the way when on carpet or a rug. Way cool that it washes its own little mops when done, and dries them too! The dirty water tank on the base showed that the mops were really cleaning, not just smearing on shine for show. Cool that I don't have to fill the mop fluid, it just fills itself at the base before going out and adds the shine fluid too. I got the official Roborock floor cleaning solution in the 16 oz bottle. The base tank for the fluid held the entire 16 oz so it was dump in, toss the bottle, done. This machine is very quiet. It turns up the vacuum power some when on rugs but still not nearly as noisy as the S9 was. It would be awesome if an American company created this, but the Chinese have sure done a great job on it. I asked Grok about security and he said all the right things regarding that. He said the info about my home is kept on-board the machine, not sent to the cloud unless I choose to place it in the cloud. He said the right things about encryption and such stuff. Sorry to hear iRobot announced bankruptcy. Hearing that is what prompted me to get this. Having the Z70 makes me understand why - iRobot was probably not going to be able to compete against this.

Suck it up!
This is the best thing since women, or a broom. I have someone in my house that has OCD when it comes to cleaning. The look of surprise was priceless as I turned this on to clean our floors and she noticed the amount of dirt that was lifted. Like an iPhone, it was amazing! The Roborock left someone upset when I mentioned that the vacuum does a better job but left me happy, and confident enough to know that I will have clean floors should she choose to vacate the premises. The mop feature is easy to install/changeover and does an exceptional job as well. I can not put a price on the value as this one is priceless to me because it does not nag you all day or talk your ear off. Also, when asked, the Roborock always knows what is wants to eat, dirt! The app is user friendly and allows you to monitor a plethora of things to include battery/charge, square footage of cleaning area, and map of where the vacuum has been amongst others. This thing gets in there good and deep giving you the best bang for your suck! buck!

Vacuum that drag a wet rag along
The robot is decent as vacuuming but have trouble with down feathers mostly because it fly away when the brush comes close. It’s good with maintaining but not meant for heavy duty work but anyone who owns a robot before should have expected it. The wet mop extension doesn’t really work. It doesn’t allow a lot of water to come out to wet the rag so start with a wetted rag before attaching the wet mop. I usually soak it in cleaning solution before attach the rag. This really help with the cleaning the floor. The rag cannot do any heavy duty mopping but it can pick up dust. It makes the vacuum much more effective. Over all I am happy with it.

Updated: Returning. After quick map of house, on 1st cleaning, Z70 got lost returning to base.
Update 11/04/25: Nothing but questions from Roborock support. Decided to delete mapped messed up by Saros Z70, and initiate another Map of main house areas. After mapping, started Saros Z70 cleaning. Z70 left it's dock, then appeared to get lost. Told it to go back to base. Started Z70 cleaning again, this time it went right to a hallway and proceeded to clean it. After leaving hallway, it tried to clean under a mapped chair; at which point mop pad came off. Via App commanded Z70 to return to base, minus one mop pad. Decided to return Saros Z70 to Amazon. Way to expensive for me to be BETA tester for manufacture. ----------------------------------------------------------- Original: Maybe got a brain dead Saros Z70? First had Z70 do a quick map house areas. Using App, I added lines to separate house into rooms and halls. On first cleaning, Z70 got lost, trying to return to base to clean it's mops. Z70 was searching for it's base on opposite side of house (East side) than where base was (West side). By map Z70 had made, and icon showing where Z70 thought it was, Z70 appeared to think East part of house was North part of house. Finally got Z70 to return to it's physical base. Where it upon it updated map to show Z70 and it's base outside of house. Still confused, upon restarting cleaning; Z70 started adding on to house map, a non-existent area.

Awesome vacuums and well worth a purchase
I was on the fence for the past few years about robot vacuums. Pretty skeptical overall about their ability to truly clean decently. I bought two of these for a large house and beyond satisfied with them. They were easy to connect to wifi, app worked great, they mapped quickly and efficiently. First cleaning they picked up a full bin, and cleaned better than we did sweeping. Overall I wouldn't hesitate to recommend these nor would I hesitate to buy another one in the future. Awesome devices that saved my wife and I from hours of sweeping!

Literally life-changing in 10,000 Sq Ft home with pets
I've dreamt of a good robotic vacuum solution for decades, at this point. Tainted by the early-days experience of robotic vacs, I kept at arms length, watchfully waiting for a solution. At last, this is it. This is the vacuum you want. Over time, we went from a 1,500 sq ft home to 10,000 sq ft. At that point, I pretty much abandoned the idea that a robotic vacuum could work for me, even though I felt I needed it more than ever. Call me paranoid, or maybe cheap, but we are not big fans of having a cleaning person in the home - so, in other words, vacuuming has been essentially a part-time job for me. With excessive pet fur shedding, and a mix of very light and very dark flooring, I've been exhausted vacuuming daily just to have a passably clean house. In practice, this meant doing a quick (ha) vacuum each day and dreadfully doing a "deep" cleaning before we would host guests or have a party or get together. I recently stumbled upon the Roborock and, while skeptical, my first impression was that a $1,400 product with 4.4 stars average HAS to be good, right? After watching YouTube videos and pouring over reviews, I took the plunge, but was still skeptical that it could work well on a larger home (I am leaving this review in part to confirm it does) ... I also assumed the mopping feature was nothing more than a gimmick. Let me tell you - this unit has been completely life changing. I know that sounds dramatic, but it is everything it says it is, and more. After 1 day of usage, I ordered a second S7 Max Ultra unit for our other level. My plan was to see how it did, and then do a super deep clean of the house in hopes that maybe it could at least sorta-maintain it for a week or two at a time. To my shock, *IT* did the super deep clean and I honestly believe the home is cleaner than it has ever been since we've owned it - both in regards to mopping and vacuuming. It sounds hyperbolic, but this is the single best purchase I have made in years. The inner peace that I can derive from knowing that I will always have clean floors is almost comical. Also, it's nothing short of magical to come home to a clean house with fresh vacuum lines and spotless floors and realize YOU didn't do it. I have found myself literally feeling productive when we go out to dinner or do something fun, knowing that our Roborock is busy cleaning back at home. These two units are saving me over 14 hours per week. Time I can spend with my family, catching up on work or - dare I say it - just relaxing. HIGHLIGHTS: - Incredible coverage and obstacle navigation. The spinning brush gets right into the spot where baseboards meet the floor and can achieve fuller coverage around complex shapes and obstacles than I was ever able to. See video example. - Mopping is amazing. We have polished floors that will show every streak, but it passes this test with flying colors. I had minor streaking when using only water, but adding the Roborock brand of cleaner (2 caps full per full tank) seems to have helped with this. - The app is surprisingly great and powerful. TIPS: - Force yourself to make a schedule and schedule recurring cleanings in the app. As outrageously excited as I am about this vacuum, I simultaneously realize that I'm human and somehow, for some stupid reason, if I had to manually click the "clean" button, this thing would not be getting used to its full potential. Currently I have it scheduled to vacuum the entire house daily (both units on both levels) and mop on Saturday mornings. Trust me on this one, my fellow human. Bonus benefit: Setting up a recurring schedule forces good habits amongst household members to keep things off the floor and generally be more tidy. - Speaking of being human... Invigorated by how incredible this machine is, I quickly began resenting the fact that I would still need to manually vacuum our staircase, which is black hardwood with a carpet runner and glaringly shows every single follicle of pet hair that graces it. My solution to this is using a small, battery-operated workshop blower (looks like a cute, mini-leaf blower) on the steps to get the dust, fur and dirt onto the lower level so that Roborock can get it. This has also been nothing short of amazing. I also use this on our dining table, the top of our piano and some other surfaces that you would normally dust. The specific blower I use is the Ryobi 18v Compact Workshop Blower. I still follow up on the stairs with a handheld vac on the carpet once or twice per week. AREAS OF IMPROVEMENT: - I hesitate to flag this as an issue because I understand the trade-offs of a larger unit, but a longer lasting battery and more in-unit storage of debris and water would be nice. Our daily vacuuming schedule uses 2x full charges on each unit (upstairs & downstairs). So 4x full battery cycles each day. But what more could I expect? It's a minor quibble and I almost didn't mention it. - Would love to be able to schedule the order of room-based cleanings, which would allow me to make sure that rooms that could be adjacent or above a sleeping toddler are not scheduled around nap-time. As it stands, the sequence of rooms is not customizable when scheduling. - There has been some erroneous obstacle detection as a result of some dark bamboo hardwood floors that have dark spots. It seems to think the dark spots are obstacles. Over time, this has improved a bit by repeatedly "ignoring" the obstacles from within the app. - Would like the option for a plumbed-in dock so that we don't need to refill the mop water or drain it manually. Now I'm just getting greedy, though.

Cannot live without it
Love how you can make a schedule of when to clean, what rooms to clean. I don’t bother lifting the chair legs off of the ground during cleaning and it seems to navigate fine around them. No issues with mapping and seems to detect obstacles well. Connects with Alexa so I can tell it to clean the kitchen or dining room after cooking and eating. My only complaint is that it sucks with charging cords and will not detect dog poop (on this model)

Roborock Saros Z7 vac and mop robot is the one to buy. It does it all!
The Roborock Saros Z70 robot vacuum and mop far exceeds my expectations. Firstly, the app is very user friendly and easy to set up and use, but does not work with Samsung phone so I downloaded it to my iPad and works perfectly. I love the Omnigrip arm. If you have children or pets this is a great feature. I have laminate flooring and some machine washable mats and the robot works well on both. This robot can be used with water only without their cleaning solution but I bought it and it will last a very long time. Tip: don’t use other brands of cleaning solution. It’s made just for this one and don’t use any home products because they can damage and corrode the robot and dock. With this robot there is very little manual maintenance required. The robot mostly self cleans after each use. The clean and dirty water tanks are on the top of the dock so you just lift them out to refill the clean water tank and empty the dirty water tank. Other maintenance is easy and simple such as lifting up the mop tray located at the bottom of the dock to wash it , dry off and replace it while the robot is cleaning rooms. You can also just lift the robot itself out of the dock to wash the tray. I only wash the tray after a month of use. Some homes might need to do that more often but it’s still a simple job. I’ve been using this robot for a month and almost daily and the dust bag is far from being full. It’s easy to remove and replace. The robot is quiet when it is working. It does such a great job, I don’t need to use my central vac anymore and I don’t need to physically wash the floors again. The robot does a thorough job of vacuuming and mopping. It is deemed number 1 in Canada right now. I can confidently recommend this and it’s worth the cost, every penny.
