WiFi Speed and Area Coverage are Great!
This router was easy to setup, has nice features and the WiFi is awesome. It has more than doubled my area coverage at much higher speeds as well. I also like the smaller footprint and hidden antennas. I have had zero issues with ethernet or WiFi connectivity. I highly recommend this router.

Great Router
It was time for an upgrade. I setup the router two days ago and am having a great experience to date. Easy setup with no issue. Iโve noticed that since the new router has been installed, speeds have improved when accessing some of my devices, and while surfing the net. So far Iโm pleased. Netgear has never failed me.

Awesome router
Easy set up and works great. The wireless signal is strong enough to reach in the back of the house and to the detached garage

NETGEAR Nighthawk RS180 Router Solved WiFi connectivity problems with Spectrum Gig Internet
The NETGEAR Nighthawk Dual-Band WiFi 7 Router RS180 solved my connectivity problem with a stable connection to handle my network speed with stability. The size is perfect to sit on top of the bookshelf. I recently upgraded to Spectrum Gigabit Internet & Spectrum sent me their WiFi7 Router. From day 1 I was having problems streaming WiFi to my Roku Devices. It would freeze or buffer every 30 minutes or so but the internet connection was fast & stable. The WiFi streaming in my house that was choking. Spectrum sent me a replacement router & I made sure all the wires were Cat6 but the issue continued. Spectrum Tech Support said the issue was my Roku Devices were on 2.4 GHz WiFi. Thing was for years I have streamed WiFi like this and it works for my needs. If a WiFi7 can't handle a WiFi 2.4 device, that router is trash. So I purchased my own Router and all the problems are solved immediately. The NETGEAR Nighthawk Dual-Band WiFi 7 RS180 Router was easy to install. I did not use the App. Even though the admin page initially tries to make you install the app, I just select I don't have a compatible mobile device, and then you can get to the Router Admin Panels from your PC Browser with local admin login. No need for an App to install or configure, but you can install the NetGear App at any time you so choose. For the last 5 years I had the NetGear R8000-100NAR Nighthawk X6 AC3200 Tri-Band Router, so this NETGEAR Nighthawk Dual-Band WiFi 7 Router RS180 seems to have stable connections so hope I get years of solid use out of this device.

Easy to Setup/Use, but buggy firmware
Needed something easy to manage, but also with same level of consistent reliability as previous Netgear router. Pros: --Very easy to setup and manage. --Very clean and simple web UI to navigate via routerlogin.net. --Context help files on each page at the bottom explains each setting choice --Excellent coverage via walls of a house. When they mean 2500 sq. Ft., it actually covers that area. --Good choice for replacing an older Netgear WiFi router because compatibility with older devices is seamless --Nighthawk app on mobile is good way to monitor and change small settings on this router remotely, even when away from home. But ONLY after initial setup is done. -VLans are supported via manual config Cons: --Bad firmware. Lots of "known" bugs with UI not displaying or saving settings correctly. --The sheer number of FAQs with suggested "Workarounds" for this model and several others in the RS series is ridiculous. Looks lile Netgear has very bad QA controls of their custom software. --Nighthawk Mobile app is not reliable for initial setup as it disconnected often. --Some previous free security features cost monthly or yearly subscription now for security features ARMOR. Other oddities: --Armor protection features appear inactive unless you subscribe to yearly plan. But turns on as "Active" with basic protection features automatically if you just let the time period expire for sign-up. --The ability to turn off WPS is gone from the WiFi settings (no more physical button or in Advanced Settings) unlike previous generation of Netgear routers. Can now only set a Pin. --Same or similar limitation for not being able to config NAT via Advanced Settings. For around the same or very similar price, would instead recommend Asus RT-BE82U from Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-RT-BE82U- Dual-Band-802-11be-Extendable/dp/B0D48GS6KB). Asus provides most of the same security features for free. BUT web UI in Asus routers can be too much for any novice user.

Pretty Good
The first NETGEAR router we ordered arrived with no exterior damage but there were lose pieces inside it which rattled when we turned the router over. The second one we received was great. We hooked it all up & everything seems to be working fine. Iโd have given 5 stars if the first hadnโt been defective.
