Je l'utilise pour mesurer le taux de sucre dans mon kéfir de fruit. Il semble très précis. 36 grammes de sucre dans un litre d'eau --> 3,6 Brix mesurés.

I purchased this to measure the sugar content in my sap. I have a small operation with 120 to 240 trees tapped on buckets. I feel this refractometer is another tool in the toolbox which gives me a better idea of the content of my sap. Ok. Out of the box it looks good. The case includes 2 droppers to extract sap from your pail/bucket and put drops on the plate of the unit. It is easy to use and the brix scale is easy to read. It also includes a small screwdriver to calibrate the unit (required initially to set your scale to zero.) I am impressed with the quality for the price I paid. Keep in mind that this is not for testing maple syrup or juices. The unit measures 0 to 10 brix. Sap is generally at 2 to 4 out of your maple trees.
