I decided that it was time to retire half of the little syringes and get a variable volume pipette, I'm really satisfied and happy with the performance and accuracy level of the Four E's pipette (1-10ml version). While it's kind of on the big side compared to what I was using before its super light weight and fits really nice on my hand so now I just need one thumb to press to withdraw and press to release! No more guessing, adjusting the volume of liquid withdraw is super easy, slowly turn the push button to adjust the volume based on the reading on the display and once is set you are good to go, to be sure how accurate is the pipette I draw up 5ml of water and filled a graded syringe to compare... Boom! right on the 5ml line. Super simple to put and remove plastic tips simplify my whole set of tools, instead of one syringe to measure each solution used, now I just have a few plastic tips of the same size that can be cleaned and reused if is safe or discarded if needed. (A small mark made on the plastic with a oil based sharpie works as a good way to ID for what is each tip is used to avoid contamination and terrible mistakes). I will recommend this tool to anyone who need a fast and easy way to dispense solutions on a consistent way without breaking the bank!!
