I use Citrus Bergamot oil for all sorts of things, but my main use is as an anxiolytic. One sniff and I am CALM! I was using a small bottle of the stuff, but I wanted a convenient inhaler and this fit the bill. I do not know why others have panned the fit and finish because this is very well made, beautiful finish too. Citrus Bergamot is like a solvent and will dissolve plastic, so I wanted a metal one that would stand up to it.The wick really wicks and the only pan I have is that the base cap does not have a pin to secure the wick in place, it just sort of floats around in there (see photo). I may install a stainless steel screw to do this because I'd like the wick fixed. Not enough to downgrade my rating, just love this inhaler.

Mine had no defects. I saw a review mentioning that and was concerned. I guess they have their milling figured out now. Works great, but I added a bunch of oil to my wick. Nearly saturated it.

Edit: Great company and good product. Before I had written the previous review they had reached out to make sure all was well with my inhaler but I had not noticed the email. When I explained the situation they offered to send a replacement. The replacement arrived in much better condition but the threads did also contain some minor burrs that were not ideal for longevity. I have added an additional star to my rating as the company did the right thing without hassle and the most recent product I received was definitely of 4 star quality. I hope the manufacture gets the machining of the threads sorted out because it very well could be a 5 star product if it did not have the flaws that could damage it with use. I still suggest purchasing this over other more standard style options. Simply be aware you should look at the threads and use a thin file to remove any excess metal that was left behind. Being aluminum it is very easy to remove the imperfections left behind by mass production.I like the inhaler overall and the wicks seem to be of a high quality but the threads on mine arrived damaged. There are chunks of thread missing from the cap threads and there were portions of the bottom male threads that needed filed away to let it run freely. Great design but for such a small amount of material and a pretty steep price I expected better quality control. As is I don’t have the confidence others do about its durability but realistically I’ll likely lose it before it is unusable.

I love the versatility of this sniffer. You can just change it up when the oil wears off or when you get tired of a particular scent. Good for finding your Zen place on the go.

you can get a dozen made in china inhaler blanks for the price of just one of these but the quality won't be there and you'll likely have issues with caps that aren't tight and come off. This unit is a bit expensive but it comes with several replacement wicks and looks like it should last through years of usage. After long experience with metal threaded objects I recommend that when you unscrew the bottom and the cover both that you take a very tiny amount of some sort of mild oil and coat the threads of the screws to avoid a corroded screw situation, aluminum doesn't rust but it does corrode, I have too many expensive maglights that won't unscrew anymore because corrosion got on the threads at some point and locked it up tight. You can use vaseline or I had some sewing machine oil, you just don't want anything that's going to add an odor to the mix. If I had my way when this was made I would have made the screw on the bottom a reverse thread. The way it is now you can accidentally unscrew the bottom of the unit just trying to get the lid off. This is made very well, would be nice if it came in other colors. I did find one seller on amazon selling these in two other colors but they wanted way too much money for it. This is still an experiment after all, lol. I like that you get several extra wicks with it making it easier to change the mix. I did see someone selling already loaded wicks that will work with this just tear open the envelope and put it in the unit. This unit doesn't have the little internal glass bottle that many of these have you just unscrew the bottom and drop in the already saturated wick. This has the holes at the base that should aid in airflow when using the inhaler. Nice but a little pricey and I'd like a nice purple or blue or red color choice given my way.

This is an updated review. I originally gave this item 5 stars based on the first use experience I had with it. I used it again the next day, about 24 hours after I had initially put the liquid on the wick and it was completely stale and dried out. It no longer had its strong odor that it had at first. Makes no sense to use this if it is going to dry out and go stale within 24 hours. The appeal of using it is to save on money and prolong the use of the liquid without it going stale from the original container being opened frequently. If you have to continue to put more liquid on the wick, you're probably gonna run out of liquid before the bottle would have gone stale if you had used it as you normally would. Maybe I'm doing something wrong but it's pretty self explanatory. I was told to only use a few drops of liquid on the wick and not to completely soak it. Due to the scent going stale, I am changing my rating down. I suppose it's good if you're going to a party or event where you want to have the liquid with you to sniff but you don't want to take the whole bottle and it be stolen or dropped, etc. but as far as prolonging the life of a bottle, not gonna happen with this gadget.
