Stella & Chewy’s Carnivore Cravings Savory Shreds Canned Wet Cat Food Variety Pack – (2.8 Ounce Cans, Case of 12)

Shredded chicken in a chicken gravy. My cat eats this entire can in one sitting. I don't have to worry about picking the bowl up later so she isn't eating spoiled food and no waste. The meat is actually shredded chicken and not some processed pebble in moisture. I am very impressed with the quality of this food. My cat clearly loves it.

I’m going to start by saying I was really excited for this food to arrive for my cats. I was an affordable price for the quality ingredients when I was shopping. I have two indoor cats and an outdoor stray that just adopted us. My indoor cats started out loving this food. After a few more cans I noticed they just wouldn’t eat! I mean two cats letting the food sit over 24 hours with nothing else and they won’t eat it! So next I start giving it to our stray kitty instead. I lovingly refer to this kitty as the dumpster eater because she will eat anything. So, I give her the cans of food… we start out strong and few cans later the stray kitty will not eat and when I tried to feed her the Chicken and Turkey flavor she vomits bright yellow all over my lanai. I have NEVER had anything like this occur before and to be honest it’s a bit concerning….. what do my cats know about this food that I don’t? Upon setting out another brand of canned cat food the cats go crazy eating up the other brand of food. The texture is a heavy gravy with lots of small pieces but occasionally the odd large chunk of a protein source. I did not notice any foul smells with the food other than the fish flavor bases smell fishy but then again that’s opinion and I am not a fish smell fan. The cans of food can be difficult to open for someone with arthritis or weak hand strength. They are made with a thicker steel and not the aluminum that seems to be easier to open.

Both of my cats are picky eaters. This is probably because I've trained them to be this way by constantly trying to find something they like and changing the food if they don't love it. Anyway, this is how they are now! Both cats love broth, juicy and gravy in/on whatever they choose to eat. So, when I first opened a can of this variety pack of cat food, I though they'd love it because it was swimming a liquidy juice with thin, but real shavings of chicken. They both sniffed it but neither licked it. Both tried burying it. I ended up giving it to the stray cat who comes by daily and she really loved it! The liquid was bright yellow so perhaps it had some additives that was off putting to my indoor cats. After they turned their noses up at it, I put it aside and gave it to the stray cat a couple of times until I realized that I hadn't given any of the other flavors a try on my indoor cats after they turned down the chicken can. This IS a variety pack, afterall. So, I ended up trying a different flavor that had seafood in it and it was a completely different consistency and overall appearance. This one didn't contain pieces of real and identifiable food in it. Instead, it was all brown, had chunks of, what I would describe as round pate balls, and gravy. One of my cats like the gravy on this one and licked most of it up but left the chunks of pate behind. My other girl wasn't having this one either. Unfortunately, overall, this food wasn't a success with my cats, aside from the stray cat outside who isn't a picky eater. It's a good price but if they don't eat it, they price doesn't really matter.

The cats enjoyed this food. It looks like real, good, quality food: clean appearance, smell isn’t strong and no reactions that I noticed. The portion size is good.

My fussy 18-year-old cat is missing teeth and has other health issues. She's a very particular diner. Stella & Chewy's purrfect pate is one of two foods she eats really well. Thank goodness Amazon carries it as it is not always available at the local pet food store.
