127 pound German Shepard wolfs food down while enjoying meal
Five STARS+ My 127 pound German Shepard, normally finicky eater, loves this dog food. He simply wolfs it down and looks around for more. Although this dog food is is expensive, it is nice to see him eat well and enjoy his food! Also, this dog food seems to regulate his bathroom breaks as well.

Saint Bernard approved 🐶🐾
I use this as a mix in with my Saint Bernard’s food and as a substitute treat if I run out. It’s cost prohibitive for me to feed him this food exclusively although I would like to, I am not independently wealthy. I do like that Katherine Heigle, who founded the company, has given pet owners other ideas and advice on how to feed their dogs. We have cut down on the kibble we were feeding him to feeding him Badlands, along with other mix ins of fruits, vegetables, rice and meats. She also advised on which foods to avoid. My Saint seems to very much like this food whether it is mixed with his kibble and mix ins or not. He is allergic to chicken so I am grateful for the beef version and he has not had any reactions. We put 2 cups on his food a day and this bag lasted 1 month. His 💩 is also not runny or hard pebbles suggesting constipation. I highly recommend this food. It’s spendy but definitely worth it if you want a healthy dog. You can also go to the website and they show you how to mix this food with other human food to graduate your pet to a better diet and away from the heated kibble that has unknown or unhealthy and inedible ingredients.

Very, very, very expensive but if I could afford it I would certainly feed to my dog, Dave.
Way too expensive. My dog loves it though. Wish they were reasonably priced. I guess it’s only for the very wealthy. Too bad for my dog Dave I just can’t afford it. For sure get this for your dog if you can afford it.

Badlands Ranch Cost Breakdown for a 55 lb Dog: What It Really Costs Per Month
I did the math on Badlands Ranch Superfood Complete Beef for my 55 lb Samoyed because I wanted to know what it would actually cost to use this as his regular food rather than just looking at the price of the bag. The quality is exceptional and i can't give 5 stars because the price makes this out of reach for most dog owners. The two best-value choices I found on Amazon are the 64 oz two-pack. The regular one-time purchase is $188.99 for two 64 oz bags, while Subscribe & Save brings the same two-pack down to $179.54. For my calculations, I used approximately 2.5 cups per day. Badlands Ranch lists the Beef formula at about 430 calories per cup and 4,300 calories per kilogram, which works out to approximately 3.53 oz per cup. At 2.5 cups per day, a 55 lb dog would eat approximately 8.82 oz per day. Since the two-pack contains 128 oz total, one order would last only about 14.5 days. That is the part I think is important to understand before buying this food. Two 64 oz bags sounds like quite a bit of food, but for a medium-to-large dog eating it as his complete diet, it is only about a two-week supply. With the regular $188.99 two-pack, my estimated cost would be: $13.02 per day $91.14 per week $390.61 per 30-day month Approximately $4,752 per year With the $179.54 Subscribe & Save price, it drops to: $12.37 per day $86.59 per week $371.08 per 30-day month Approximately $4,515 per year So Subscribe & Save is clearly the better of the two options. It saves about $19.50 per month, or roughly $237 per year, assuming the discounted price remains the same. The bigger takeaway for me is the overall cost of using Badlands Ranch as a complete diet for a 55 lb dog. Even buying the largest package and using Subscribe & Save, I would still be spending around $371 per month. The food may be appealing because it is air-dried and contains a high percentage of animal ingredients, but anyone with a medium or large dog should calculate how quickly the bags will actually be consumed. For my 55 lb Samoyed, the best Amazon option shown is: 64 oz × 2 Subscribe & Save $179.54 per shipment Approximately 14.5 days of food Approximately $12.37 per day Approximately $371 per month CONDENSED VERSION -------------------------- So, for anyone considering Badlands Ranch Superfood Complete Beef for a medium or large dog, I ran the numbers for my 55 lb Samoyed. Using approximately 2.5 cups per day, the two 64 oz bags contain about 14.5 days of food. The two best Amazon options are: 64 oz × 2 One-Time Purchase: $188.99 $13.02/day $390.61/month 64 oz × 2 Subscribe & Save: $179.54 $12.37/day $371.08/month Subscribe & Save is the better value, saving about $19.50 per month or approximately $237 per year. The biggest thing to be aware of is that even though you are buying 8 pounds of food at a time, a 55 lb dog eating it as his complete diet could go through the entire two-pack in only about 14.5 days. So the realistic cost is around $371 per month with Subscribe & Save.
