Less slippage than a wooden hoop.
I’m relatively new to embroidery and was relatively annoyed by how much the fabric slips in a wooden hoop so matter how tight I had it initially. I tried this hoop, and there’s a bit of a learning curve in terms of how to put the hoop together, but once I got it, the fabric didn’t sleep AT ALL. Only wish I’d been able to choose my color!

I have always had good luck with these hoops re cross stitch
I have always had good luck with these hoops re cross stitch. I will say there is not a great deal of competition, though. I have not used the wooden hoops in years. For most of my medium sized projects I prefer the size 8 (10 often seems to clumsy). I like to have several hoops on hand because I often have multiple projects going at once. These are one for $5.99 or two for $6.43 so I’m not sure why anyone would just buy one. I don’t think any hoop is going to keep the fabric “bounce a quarter” tight but it is likely not good for your fabric/needlework to stretch it that tight. Bottom line, this avid, long time cross-stitcher recommends!

Nice hoop - better than wood IMO
I have bought several of these by this brand in different sizes. This item works fine. I use this 8" hoop for my 6x6-inch and smaller projects. I don't like working too close to the edge of the hoop because then I don't have enough room to "finish" my stitches by going under previous stitches on the back, hence why my projects are about 2" smaller than the diameter of the hoop.Over all, I like plastic hoops more than wood ones because I think the wood ones sometimes warp. The only exception is if you want to "frame" your finished project with an embroidery hoop (instead of a traditional frame with a double-mat) - in that case only, I'd use a wood hoop.

I am so happy to find this good quality embroidery hoop at this price. It’s easy to use, comfortable to hold, and is the perfect size for most of my projects.

Perfect for Crossstitch
This mid-sized hoop is perfect for doing crossstitch and embroidery. The plastic is light weight so it is easy to hold on to for an extended time, and is also light to carry in my tote bag. The screw on the hoop holds the tension tight so you get even stitches. For most projects this hoop will work very well.(The color I got was blue. I was not picky about what color they sent, but if you want a certain color, email the seller and I bet they would work with you.)

Great Hoop!
I received a pink hoop, that I love because it is great quality, the bright color makes it easy to find in my luggage and when my toddler decides it would be a great idea to hide it.This hoop is easy to adjust and holds fabric tightly without slipping. Although it is plastic, it is not uncomfortable to hold even after long periods of time. I definitely would purchase more.

Buen Aro!
Es un buen aro, pero podrían haberlo hecho de mejor calidad por el precio (no estoy diciendo que este pésimo el plástico) cuymple su función. tiene buen agarre; lo recomiendo si hacen bordado a máquina de pedal.
