​If you want a slim, lightweight laptop, keep looking. But if you want an absolute gaming beast housed in a heavy-duty, rugged chassis that feels indestructible, this Alienware Area-51 18" is it. It’s an absolute tank of a machine and worth every penny.

I've really like my Alienware 18" laptop. It's fast, and the screen is big and high quality. It has two downsides: it's heavy (which is to be expected for a big gaming laptop), and it runs a little hot when in performance mode (which is also to be expected for a gaming laptop that is as fast as this one is). If you're looking for a small, easily portable laptop, this isn't your machine. But if you're looking for a fast gaming laptop with great graphics, this might be the right one for you.

I bought the Alienware Area-51 expecting a premium, top-of-the-line experience. I mainly use this laptop for heavy design work, and performance-wise for graphics, it handles the workload well. However, a major hardware/driver issue makes it really hard to recommend—the audio completely stopped working. When I'm on Zoom meetings or video calls with clients, there is zero sound output. The system fails to detect the internal speakers entirely and only recognizes connected external monitors as an output source. I’ve spent hours troubleshooting: Fully uninstalling and reinstalling the audio hardware drivers. Re-checking Windows default playback devices and device manager. Restarting services and checking for software updates. Nothing brings the onboard audio back. Having to explain to clients during a professional call that my brand-new, top-tier laptop can’t even play basic audio is incredibly embarrassing. For a machine at this high price point, basic hardware reliability like speakers and audio drivers should not be an issue. Extremely disappointing experience.

I recently purchase this laptop, it was alway something I wanted but couldn't purchase it. Thanks to the offered package deal Amazon afford me this dream became a reality! Hats off to amazon and the online chat team that made this happen, thanks very much for meeting your customers at the point of their need. Boy this laptop didn't disappoint, I use it for work purposes and its a head turner for sure... the sheer speed of opening documents, working on multiple screens is mind blowing. Functionality is unmatched from all other laptops I have used, this laptop is running full system updates whilst working on powerpoint, word documents and have games running on the back ground. its durable engineering is amazing and the slimmer design on the 2025 Area-51 model make it easier for transporting. I recommend the Alienware 18" Backpack

This laptop works great but it's not something you'd want to carry around because it is heavy. There are tons of reviews available online, so I won't repeat all they say. It lives up to the hype and performs reliably.

This is my 3rd Alienware laptop, and I have loved them all. Of course the cost is very pricey, but for me its worth it. I did have to get through about 2 hours updates when I first started it up. The built quality is really great, plenty of memory for my use, the sound quality is just okay, sounds very boxy. Fans work really great, this laptop runs much cooler then I thought it would. Two complaints: The startup sound is not controllable at all and you can not mute it, 2nd I wish I could control keeping the touchpad light on all the time and other adjustments for it. Update to my first review.. I had to lower the rating of this laptop. After 6 months of owning it I have spent almost 20% of its on time dealing with updates and restarts. Also, had an update cause a complete black screen so I had to preform a complete factory reboot. The alienware support features are now gone "no longer supported", though it still shows up, but does nothing. I paid close to 4k for this laptop and at this point I just should have gone with something with the same specs with half the price, Alienware seems to have lost its edge. Microsoft and Copilot are just going to continue their unwanted updates and Alienware and Dell couldn't care less it seems. Well I got 2 months of owning a really cool laptop. But then....well read above.

after 4-6 monthes, get some hardware error , saying some problems with hinges, after certain amount of time never shows up, tryyed rich the dell customer service 5 times neveer get succeed, automatic updates kill one time sound driver, need to reinstall manualy, still working, barelly use, sometimes play mfs2024, heating a lot, screen good, sound good, performance goood for me. doesnt like missing right ctrl button.

Awesome beast of a machine. Heavy, but quality. You get what you pay for. Would buy again... if I could afford it.
