The total cup volume is measured to the brim of each cup (i.e. take the lid off and fill the cup until it reaches the top). The ounce and milliliter markings do not go up to the very brim for aesthetic reasons. Is the bottle dishwasher safe? Yes. All pieces (including the blender ball) are dishwasher safe. It is recommended using the top rack for the cup and lid, and placing the blender ball in the silverware bin. Is this product lead-free? Yes. What is the blender ball made of? Polished 316 (surgical-grade) stainless steel. Is this product microwavable? While the plastics used in this product are safe, microwaving is strongly discouraged. The leak-proof seal can allow pressure to build up inside the bottle/jars when heating, causing the lids or flip caps to open unexpectedly and spray contents. Never microwave this bottle with the blender ball inside. Can I freeze my bottle? Generally, freezing this bottle is not recommended. Like most plastic bottles, it may become brittle and more susceptible to cracking or breaking when frozen. If you decide to freeze the contents, please make sure to leave room at the top, as well as the flip cap open, for the contents to expand. Can I use it to mix hot liquids? No. Hot or warm liquids may build up pressure within the bottle and cause the flip cap to open unexpectedly and spray contents. Some ingredients such as pancake batter may also build up pressure within the bottle. When mixing these types of ingredients, users should hold a finger over the flip cap while shaking and use caution when opening the flip cap. Suggested Use: Wash before first use. Add liquid before adding powder or thicker ingredients. Drop in the blender ball. Screw lid firmly in place and make sure the flip cap is closed completely. Hold bottle by the gripper bars and shake from the wrist. No need to remove the blender ball when simply drinking water from the bottle. The stainless steel won't chip, rust, or peel. Cleaning Clean immediately after use when possible because unfortunately, most BPA-free plastics are prone to retaining odors. So, the more quickly the bottle is cleaned, the more neutral its scent will be. If cleaning must be delayed because you're at the gym or away from home, add in some water and shake so your ingredients don't become sticky and hard to clean later. All pieces are dishwasher safe. It is recommended to place the cup and lid on the top-rack and the blender ball in the silverware bin. Troubleshooting Odors Fill bottle with baking soda and vinegar. Let sit overnight with the flip cap open. Sprinkle a piece of newspaper with water, or place several drops of vanilla extract on paper towels. Crumple the newspaper or paper towels and place inside the bottle. Screw on the lid and let sit for 24 hours. Place damp coffee grounds inside the bottle, seal, and allow to sit overnight.
