Top Cell matches and a decent undercard
Like Summerslam earlier in the year, much of the card and hype for Hell in a Cell is built around the Brock v Taker main event. Summerslam stacked the undercard with fine support so can Hell in a Cell match it? Not quite. The two Cell matches are certainly worth the price of entry with the rest of the card being solid and watchable without necessarily feeling that vital or important. This is a brief run down of the show along with the sole dvd extra - the pre show kickoff match.John Cena v Alberto Del Rio - US Title - Alberto gets a hearty pop from the crowd, genuine surprise returns tend to have that effect. The Del Rio/Zeb Colter team up didn't really work out in the end, in fact it kinda bombed and perhaps someone younger and fresher could have used the rub from Cena here. Never mind. The match itself is ok, nothing special but has a refreshingly clean finish.Roman Reigns v Bray Wyatt - Hell in a Cell Match - A top, hardworking effort from these two. The weapons and stunts are used nicely to stitch together a fine piece of work. It doesn't always move at an electric pace but then it really doesn't have to.New Day v Dudley Boyz - Tag Titles - This is pretty decent fun, the New Day boys usually are and the veterans hold up their end of the bargain (despite an early botch that draws a few boos).Nikki Bella v Charlotte - Divas Title - Solid enough outing, one of Nikki's better ones and she looks pretty good out there. Honestly.Seth Rollins v Kane - World Heavyweight Title - At this stage of Kane's career, this was never gonna be a classic but Rollins is always watchable against all kinds of opponents. They knock up a solid scrap which doesn't outstay its welcome.Ryback v Kevin Owens - IC Title - Can't help but feel that KO is wasted here in a relatively short, uneventful match which is pure filler ahead of the main event. Hopefully there will be better days ahead.Brock Lesnar v Undertaker - Hell in a Cell Match - On commentary Cole notes that Lesnar has had one previous Cell match and that he won it. He doesn't mention that that match was indeed against Taker back at No Mercy 2002. That one was a (bloody) cracker and this picks up where it left off. There's some more of the red stuff (a rarity these days), more brutal brawling and more intense drama and storytelling. Good stuff and a fitting end to this chapter for the two big fellas. And then the kick off match.......Dolph Ziggler, Cesaro and Neville v Rusev, King Barrett and Sheamus - A lot of talent hiding on the pre show but it's a pretty standard Raw style tag match until Cesaro hits the ring in the latter stages, lights up the ring and blows the roof off the joint. That's how to get a crowd pumping.

Randy Orton vs. Jeff Hardy stole the show at "Hell in a Cell".
Hell in a Cell was supposed to be the Devil's playground but over the years, the structure turns out to be a career-altering match. Anyway, this pay-per-view opens with a show-stealing Hell in a Cell match between Randy Orton & Jeff Hardy. It was a great match except Orton went Jason Vorhees on Hardy by sticking a screwdriver into his ear. (That was sick!) Then another show-stealing personal Smackdown Women's Championship match between my dream girl Charlotte Flair & her former best friend Becky Lynch (who's now a heel). Of course, there was poor sportsmanship at the end when Lynch refuses to shake Flair's hand. The New Day segment was funny. (I love those guys!) Then, the Raw Tag Team Championship match was OK. Of course, it's always exciting when Monday Night Rollins is in the match. The WWE Championship match was OK except Samoa Joe is still being a jerk by continue to taunt AJ Styles & his family. The mixed tag team match between real-life married couples Daniel Bryan & Brie Bella and the Miz & Maryse was OK except the Miz beat Daniel Bryan again. The Raw Women's Championship match was OK. Of course, I enjoy watching UFC hottie Ronda Rousey beat up the top heel Alexa Bliss even when Bliss have Mickie James & Alicia Fox at her corner. And the Hell in a Cell main event between Roman Reigns & Braun Strowman for the Universal Title was OK. Of course, the fans starts cheering when Brock Lesnar attacks both Reigns & Strowman. It may not be the best pay-per-view of 2018 but it's a five-star classic due to the Randy Orton vs. Jeff Hardy Hell in a Cell match. That match save the show from being critically panned.

Quite Exciting!
Very exciting and fun. Strange how there isn't much of the Pay Per View on disc 1. There is more special features then there is the Pay Per View. Disc 2 makes up for it with the rest of the show and NO special features on it. Very enjoyable for all WWE fans.
