Works great if you use it right
First off, I hardly ever leave reviews. A few years ago I had the Comp cams valve spring tool and I had to replace 2 bolts because they kept bending. I wanted something different, but didn't want to spend $100+. I decided to give this cheaper alternative a try, not expecting a whole lot, but was pleasantly surprised.I am rebuilding the top end of my LS2 that has BTR .660 springs, I just finished removing and replacing springs in both heads and the plate is not bent in the slightest, the threaded piece is not stripped or bent at all and it worked perfectly. The secret is to use grease (I used engine assembly lube with moly) each time you remove a valve spring. Just a dab on the threads to keep it from binding. Also, there is no need to run it down until the spring is fully compressed, just far enough to remove the keepers. With these extra steps, I'm sure it will last me many times.

Great tool
Great tool. For the price. Made it to spring #14 then the threads on the nut pulled off. Stud wasent damaged so have a extra nut handy. M8x1.25 . Did it with heads on with air in the cylinder was easy took about an hour. Start stub by hand then use impact or whatever so you dont cross thread. Most people know this thou.

It works - mostly.
I bought this thing to swap the springs on a pair of LS6 heads and while it did get the job done the included nut came apart on the 12th spring (lubricated it between springs, but it still didn't finish the job) and the stud needed a thread chaser to clean up, but between that and a trip out for another nut I did get the job done.If you're looking to do more than 1 set of heads I'd pick a different one that's either a bit wider or thicker, mine actually bent a little bit and had to be flipped over every few springs to keep it straight enough to use but it does work.Overall it's good enough to change a set of springs if you have an extra 8 x 1.25 nut around; if you have multiple sets to do you might want to pick a better one.

Great for the price just grab an extra nut and washer
Worked great for the price, I recommend getting an extra washer and nut because after doing first 8 springs the nut started to strip . After changing the nut smooth sailing from there

Worked perfectly
Worked flawlessly, no issues at all. Lubed the stud with gear oil between springs and used hand tools to tighten. Simple tool that did what is expected, at a fraction of the price of name brand competitors.

!!TERRIBLE PRODUCT!!
Honestly I never write reviews but this product is so terrible I feel like I need to. !!TERRIBLE PRODUCT DO NOT BUY!! Used it as you’re supposed to, compressed one spring and the plate was bent. If you are putting in stiffer springs it’s impossible the spring will jump around and you won’t be able to get the retainers in. DO NOT BUY materials are very cheap and left silver paint/metal shavings everywhere. Better off spending the money and buying a nice one. TERRIBLE PRODUCT
